Prince Jammy Destroys the Invaders

The Bob Marley thread is throwing me into reggae mode now. This is some spacey and rather sparse dub from Prince Jammy, before he became King Jammy, before he went digital. This harkens back to his days working with King Tubby. Laid back throughout, lots of atmosphere. Play this super loud and smoke up.

He's my favorite jazz artist and one of my favorite artists of any genre. Those were new purchases/first listens. I'm pretty sure I own more albums by Archie Shepp than any other artist. I'm up to 31 (2 of which are twofers) or 33 by how they were originally released/packaged.

So how did you like those two?

I think it's about time I got some more Archie Shepp stuff, but so far for me nothing has come close to Attica Blues, not even Cry of My People. But Attica Blues does set the bar incredibly high.

Since my last post/for the rest of today:

John McLaughlin - My Goal's Beyond
Cul De Sac - Death of the Sun
Don Cherry - Brown Rice (pictured in previous post)
David Bowie - Young Americans
Bob Marley & The Wailers - African Herbsman
Chad Vangaalen - Soft Airplane
Weekend - Sports
