Can't say I listen to them much anymore. I wasn't a huge fan, but I'd like to see this since I did not know the full back story.

So I went to see this last night at a local indie theater. One night only screening with an intro from Steve Labate who used to be Associate Editor at Paste and was a contributor to the documentary.

Really enjoyed it but really wished it had gone even deeper. I had zero knowledge of their history and particularly Sandman's personal story. They guy was very un-rock star-ish and human which may make his story even more appealing. Still, there is a huge chunk of his life post-high school until he starts playing in Treat Her Right in Boston that is missing. It's touched on only through post cards and second hand stories but it's a pretty big hole. A decade's worth. Still, maybe it's best to let the imagination take over there.

Still, I'd say it's must see for Morphine fans but anyone with a cursory interest in their music would at the very least be moved to grab some of their albums which, ultimately, would be a success for this doc.

It's certainly made me pull out my albums and go looking for "Good" and "This Night". Both of which I've never heard.

Great band. Their success really was remarkable given what they were doing.

I've had a copy of this DVD I bought early this summer and for some fucking reason I haven't gotten around to watching it. I need to change that with a quickness.
