I think its fairly accurate. I'm not questioning people's musical knowledge or taste but few people (myself included) post musical info beyond a list format, np, or a simple i like this or hate this type comment.

Since Chris referred to me as one of the oldtimers who doesn't post that much, I'll say that my lessened posting is mainly driven by being a lot busier than I was in prior years and losing most of my interest in new rock and pop music. I think Haq did a fine job with the format. I just don't have that much in common with what people here are listening to and discussing anymore.

And Spade and I just had this discussion yesterday in fact and his answer sums up what we came up with.

It's nothing personal against anyone here at all. I think a lot of us that were here(cmj) the last couple years or more have all sort of gotten to a place where other shit has come up within our lives that takes precedence over posting. Yes a LOT of old time regulars have vanished which does make it sad for those of us who knew them well. Shit the once always present Chicago crew has practically disappeared from here lately.

And yes quite a few more of us have been here more infrequently then usual(if I write bad blame it on my one handed writing and painkillers k?).

And Pagoda was right, Chris is not turning this into a personal issue with any newer peeps at all. He's just asking the question. And in fact it is a question like I said before, a few of us here have wondered about.

And I too find myself actually gravitating towards a couple other boards more that have similar taste in music that I do(GloNO and ViaChicago). I have a limited budget these days and time and feel some of what's discussed has is representative of that. A lot of the music threads here contain bands i have no clue as to what they sound like.

Plus lately the humor around here is gone. People are overly pissy these days. I mean look at how this thread turned out. Jesus people chill. It's friday.

these are the kinds of threads i count on to get me through my looong friday afternoons.

Actually, I happen to think that Rick Derris, Drinky Crow and Sen. LooGAR are nothing but gentlemen and they've shown me nothing but kindness. There's not a bad thing I can say about them. The others though can eat shit.
