And we had a lady ask us today if we were worried abt the pitbull eating our baby when it comes. With a straight face.

you should've replied that you already had that all figured out; just coat the baby with that hot pepper spray.

Kyle, you should just tell people you're going to adopt some of those murderous feral dogs they got in Georgia

Kids really wanted a dog, but are allergic. So, we got a lizard; a bearded dragon.

"Poopie Von Poopie"

Right after we got him -- 4 mos. old.
He's a bit bigger now.

I tried to get a photo of the kids' Shermy the hermit crab. Too shy, though. Things over a year old. He escaped once from his terrarium crawling upside down on the ceiling vent and popped the hood. He also killed ol' Thunderbolt for a bigger shell back in the day. What a pill.

Kane - the best most loving PB terrier you'll ever meet. Absolutely wonderful with kids.

Image

Murphy - one of those cats that paws you for 15 minutes before laying down.

Image

Milo - the sort of cat that you think might be nice, but was deserted by its mother at a young age and lacks some "people" skills that most cats have. Will randomly scratch the fuck out of you. But, he LOVES cream cheese and will literally suck your finger if you put cream cheese on it. haha

Image

Lola the Rat - gives you kisses and hides in your shirt on the back of your neck. :)

Image

We've also rescued an 8 month old black Lab mix but no picture available right now because he was on his way to get neutered but they discovered that he has heartworms, so we're all crossing our fingers for successful treatment. No one knows how long he's had them. His name is Rocco.

Rocco is great with people and kids, but really aggressive with other animals, so we're training him against that right now. Kane loves Rocco despite having to show Rocco who's boss every now and again. And, for what Kane manifests in stupid puppy love, Rocco matches in intelligence. The dog learns commands faster than any other dog I've ever known.

this is Carl Winslow.
He's batshit crazy.
Here he is staring at a model I made.
He continued to do so for about thirty minutes.
Carl is monogamous. He LOOOOVES me. He gets sick when I leave town.
He's nervous around anyone else.
He will attack you.

Image
This is Minnie Cooper.
She's a pretty normal cat.
She'll talk when no one is watching her.
Mainly it's just at night we'll hear her saying "heeelllooo" but if you watch her she won't do it.

They are brother and sister
and lots of times they synchronize.

..that title belongs to our pitiful old rescue Carmelita. Seen here with an adopted kitten who she also let try to nurse off of her (unsuccessfully.)

She's actually TOO sweet, I wish she'd have a little confidence in herself once in awhile. She's allllways sorry for something, whether she did anything or not. It gets old.

Yeah. But, with a pit, I'd take that personality over the one where you're never quite sure if she/he is going to snap and bite your kid's face off. haha

No worries there. My daughter crawls over her, fapps her on the head, etc, and she just snores.

My Bernese Mt. Dog, Jack, died last night. We had to put him down due to an intestinal obstruction. He had 8 good years. This is him with some buddies at his Doggie daycare. He was one hell of a dog.

Rough day today.

sorry to hear about Jack TDM, I have a Jack Russell called Enzo he is 6
and really is quite a handfull. He constantly pulls on his lead, no matter
how short or tight it is and he absolutely hates postmen!
We are often lucky to get our mail in one piece most mornings though
we have finally had enough of holding him back when the letterbox clicks
and just installed a saftey gate in the hall. He also hates the binmen taking
our rubbish and will go mental if he sees anyone in a flourescent jacket.

He never barks while tied up outside the supermarket but always barks when left
outside the It's A Gift shop!? Enzo also goes for any dog that comes
within arms length and this is something I just can't get him to stop doing
no matter what I try. He needs 3 walks a day minimum and eats nothing
but fresh chicken wings from the supermarket and is super healthy and stocky
and has beautiful markings.

Image
loves to pose by the seaside

Image
hates swans

Image
would eat a mole if he could ever catch one

Image
when he was a puppy Enzo wished he could be James Bond

Seconded. So sorry to hear it. The little guy I posted up above just had his 1 year birthday last month. He's my first dog as an adult and I'd be devastated we had to do the same. My future sister-in-law just had this happen to their Vizsla. They had to open her stomach and found a 1 inch piece of a toy in her intestine. Awful experience for them.

Sorry for your loss.

Thanks guys. Yeah, he, along with his female sibling, were my first dogs as an adult as well. I'm actually surprised at how hard this has been. I didn't think losing a dog would be so rough on me. My youngest daughter is a mess as well. She teared up at the breakfast table this morning when she realized he wasn't right there sneaking her leftover scraps as was their ritual. Damn.

Very sorry to hear about this. A dog is totally a member of the family, and losing one is really hard to get over. Sounds like he got to live a full and great life, though, and that's really a great thing.
