Frankly, we can't even really be sure that they weren't using an inherently devious Indonesian version of Adobe just to create the .pdf!

They could go Chappelle and produce a video where they show him emerging from the birth canal, with an Army general, a state department official, the governor of HI all producing two forms of government issued ID, and everyone in the OR proclaiming "it's a beautiful day here in Hawaii on August 4, 1961 and these people wouldn't believe the dude was born in America.

My favorite thing is the people who pipe up with "his name was Barry Soetero!!" or really, that rant I posted above. I wish I could achieve that level of stupidity to go along with my vitriol. The simple and dumb can come up with a better turn of phrase often than a team of Aaron Sorkin's writers.

Any thoughts on the reshuffling at Defense, CIA, etc?

I listened to the presser (because I'm a loser) and my first thought was "Gen Betrayus is positioning himself for a POTUS run in 2016"

Also, great to see these lifelong Republican apointees and major establishment figures running in droves from working for the Obama administration in protest and disgust over his single handed dismantling of capitalism, the military and the American way of life. Oh wait, that isn't happening and all these establishment guys lurv Barry H. Satan? Double drat!

if I'm Patreus, I am very happy about this. get out of the sinking ship in Afghanistan, position yourself for later, and finally find out who killed JFK.

Yeah CIA Director would be a great job even if you do have to take 3 or 4 Silkwood Showers a day.

It's basically a branch of the military at this point anyway with the DRONEG ATTAX we lay on folks so he'll feel at home.

You're right, anything short of some classic era KGB is strictly amateur hour to him.

Torture briefings are to him what watching endangered and manufactured species (you know, like the Centaurs and the Unicorns) be mowed down with a machine gun are to my man Vlad Putin. Dave Petraeus needs to PARTICIPATE to get off.

Only now he gets to do it from the friendly confines of Langley, and some fucking post-apocalyptic shell of a British Empire Hotel in Kabul.

Your jpg is just an image with a clipping path, but still with the entirety of the image all on one layer. But the Obama thing is more complicated and broken apart. It has the words broken into various layers, a white shadow behind all the words on a different layer, and the flawless background on its own layer. Quite different a different thing.

I don't really understand what the background thing is, it's clearly not part of the original document. I assume it's added for some kind of security reason but not one that I understand.

I'm not trying to say it's fake, or that it even needs to be explained to me. I just think it's a head slap moment, and will definitely be latched onto.

I was wrong about the background being flawless. The background has the white under where most of the type is and some other parts of the document and writing.

I think they 'shopped it - just because the further furor is fuel for the racist fire. It allows them to make the remnants of the birther "movement" like the dumbie who's comment I posted look even more unreasonable. And, it distracts swing/middle of the road/reasonable voters from the inevitable checklist of "college transcripts, arrest records, master's thesis, wife's records, cock length, he's a nullo" litany.

They're playing chess.

Seth is useless without his teleprompter. Where are the Lorne interview tapes? Where did this guy come from? He has no comedy background and suddenly he's doing Weekend Update? What is he hiding from us?

I was hoping that Obama would finally peel his skin back and reveal the serpent underneath that we all know is there.

As it were... Mission Accomplished?
