So, after last month's whirlwind trip to DC, i have been recieving calls about various campaigns (NC, CT, IA) but nothing about jobs in DC, which is frustrating, as I already have a place I can move in up there, and it would be much preferable to this road grinnd I've been doing for 4+years.

In a strange bit of circumstance, I was able to get a sitting US Senator call over to the DSCC (Democratic Senate Campaign Committee) and though I'm not sure what he said, I have a call Wednesday with the Executive Director and the Finance Director.

So, even though I ruined the board, I need some karma on this'n, boys and girls.

And, How the fuck am I supposed to concentrate on anything between then and now?

np: Apples in Stereo, Tone Soul Evolution

My opinion is that you should move to the A-TX and democratify this state. Hell, find the next, more mongerous LBJ and take him all the way to the top. We can go sneak into Tom DeLay's and leave him a few sloppy top deckers.

seriously, though - good vibes sent in yr direction.

That would rule, actually, but with DeLay's shenanigans over the past few years, its getting harder to make MONEY doing that.

then again, if i can help in AL, why not TX?

Not that you of all 7-foot-tall people need to be told this, but don't take No for an answer. Even if it's "God no, and stop calling here." Give 'em hell.

P.S. I did ok on the GMAT this morn. Beat last year's UW MBA applicants' average score by 20 (on a 0-800 scale). And the math part kicked my arse... thank jeebus for verbal!

They give you your scors then and there?

PS. I am hoping that since a fucking senator called them, they are just going to find something for me there, no matter if they have a position or not. if not i have a few standby-s but I'm just so sick of being on the run all the time.

Yep, you get a screen w/ your "preliminary" score on it, which is going to be the same as the one they mail you. Then they print it out, stamp it, seal it, and sign it. I thought I did much worse... but that 96th percentile verbal gonna get my stupid ass in there, if I'm lucky.

Dude, if a senator calls, you do what he says. That's how it works.

That's kinda cool. That's what saved me on the SAT...I think I got barely 400 in Math and like 760 verbal, something sick like that.

yeah, the Senator thing rules, b/c like I said, I had been up there before, and word I got back was "They like you, but you're not connected well enough/don't have the right (read: Washington) experience. I'm guessing this was a nice added incentive. Now I just have to wait until Weds. to find out. Grrr.

I feel your pain on this one. The firm I got the offer from is supposed to call me "early this week" to let me know about if they can raise their offer, which would mean we are moving.

You were playing "Tone Soul Evolution" earlier... that can only improve your karma/chances.
Bang dat shit, money.

And convince those fucks to start doing something meaningful with regard to getting our country off the teet of the oil industry. Gas hit $2.44/gall here this morning and on Friday night I got scared outta my undies reading www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net

Thanks Chad (and everyone) is that link like the one I put up from RS last week? I swear I think the hard right doesn't want to do anything because they don't really believe in fossils/fossil fuels...and don't think it'll run out,

Maybe after this I'll have a better handle on it all.
