I think it should be (and is, largely) handled such that each person decides how they want to pick an album. If that person wants to make sure the recipient might like the album, then getting a handle on their tastes is fine. If they don't care, then fine.

The Baby Huey record is gonna take a couple of listens, a lot of instrumental meandering on there, but I'm thinking that it's pretty good.

she dumped me a little over a month ago, but then we agreed to start seeing each other "at a slowed pace" about a week later.

I didn't play on this album or the ensuing ep, but i did play on the ep after that, and he really knocks me out with his loving attention to detail in both writing and recording. Gary Calhoun James is no joke, at least in my book. If you like later Beatles psychedelia and with a folk pop Iron and Wine/Bon Iver sensibility, i think you'll dig this.

I dled pagan love and am digesting while i work. Sounds like Ben Hur meets West Side Story over a plate of spaghetti ala Lady and the Tramp at a Tiki bar on Gilligan's Island so far. I'll write something real after I listen more than a few times. I do love the tones they got on the orchestra. Recordings just don't sound like that anymore.

Oh thanks man. I really wanted to up David Mead's stellar "Mine and Yours" but couldn't find it and wasn't about to pay for it a second time. That's a lie, I'll totally buy it again, but when i have money. I thought about re-upping Kait Berreckman's album that I co-produced because i love her writing, but that seemed a douchey thing to do. I also thought about Jules and the Polar Bears, Fenetiks.

Anyhow, this Pagan Love is wild, and i really love it, probably because I'm an ex classical player and i love the bernstein-esque feel of the orchestration.
