Acid Bath- Paegan Love Song (I noticed Fu gives this some play)

Image

Allmusic sayeth: "Acid Bath's second album further establishes the band's unique Southern punk/sludge/goth metal hybrid, only with warmer, fuller production and a more melodic songwriting approach than on their debut."

The best post-Jam thing that he's done. Great record.

Strongly disagree. Days of Speed is better as is almost every Style Council album save The Cost of Living and the last one whose name escapes me. It might be the best solo studio album of his but that's not saying much. He's terribly boring solo imo.

Wow really? That Days of Speed album is a snoozer to me- but they are so differently stylistically that it seems to be comparing apples and oranges.

Yeah I suppose it is. What I'm really saying is despite being a big fan of the Jam and the Style Council (I might be their only fan here), I pretty much hate Weller solo. Days of Speed is the exception since it has some Jam and SC tracks mixed in with the songs from his solo albums.

I'm actually surprised you don't like Wild Wood - have you listened to it recently?

Anyhow - yeah what you are really saying is Weller solo is shit .. so much so that a mediocre snoozefest like DoS is his best effort. Who knew you had it in you? :P
