Haven't been to this in years. Any of the bands listed here worth checking out?:

I've never seen any of these bands, but I like the music I've heard from them:

The Boulevard Beat (looking forward to the release of their album)
Javier Escovedo (probably don't need to pimp him to you)
The Ex-Gentlemen (LA punk/glam "all stars" with a debt to old Generation X albums)
The Parties (jangly old skool power pop with surprisingly strong songwriting)
Smash Fashion (more modern glammy punk)
Arthur Alexander (of Sorrows) (the Sorrows were excellent late '70s power pop - maybe a bit of a gamble that he's still all that interested)
John Wicks/The Records (depends on how much a guy cherishes "Starry Eyes", I guess)
17 Pygmies (interesting band, although none of their music I've heard is anything close to power pop)

Sparkle*jets UK seem to play there a lot. Never heard them though.

Thanks...unfortunately I probably can't make Javier Escovedo's set although he's an LA local so I probably could catch him some other time. A lot of those bands have already played but I think the Ex-Gentlemen and the Parties are ones I could potentially make.

Thanks for taking the time to go through that. I was hoping you would.
