Yeah, I think this is pretty much the world of being a parent + having a job where you can browse the internet freely and listen to music while you work.

Well, I'll also freely admit that I'm not much of a movie person. And seriously, if not for my wife, I would rarely see them.

I tend to latch onto a handful of movies and suck every last drop out of them, but I don't go through movies the way I go through music where I probably hear a few new (to me) albums a week I probably see less than 20 new movies a year.

Let me inject some reality into this thread.

So much conjecture stated by one person and then followed, defended and refuted by a bunch of assholes that think they know more than everyone else.

How much time was spent collectively by everyone thinking about and translating this worthless shit?

In summary:
Five pages worth of diatribes that evolved from past and recent music trends
how they relate to taco trucks
and why you're right/wrong.

I know this is a music message board but this is pushing the boundary of complete retardedness.

It's amusing nonetheless.

Thanks Obner.

It's like you've only been reading your own posts.

While I can agree somewhat with that and amusing it is, I'd have to say I give a shit about what comes from some of the obners' mouths rather than a sub or pop culture rag/blog would say. An Obner debate between gen and their culture makes it more interesting rather than one's peculiar take (like a Klosterman). And, because of the diversity of people's lives here and ability to at the very least express opinions clearly is a worth while exercise imo. Even you Jerkass are worthy of that participation, of course. As dissenting as you can be you heighten interest of discourse even though maddening to some.

I actually think the Gom has better options that most cities it's size that are land locked like it is.

But, to the larger point, I think there is something to the fact people like "shitty cheap food" because they simply have no other choices.

I mean how many cities in this country are under 100,000 in population? Thousands.

What's the biggest social class? The working class? I think there is something to people A) not being able to afford to go to Whole Foods every week and B) not having the healthy options or even any option outside of McDonalds, etc.

Yeah, I've never driven the entire eastern seaboard, and I don't type this from Kansas City. I didn't go to NYC last year for Xmas and haven't been to Philly or DC this year. Guys, I'm pretty well traveled, have a grasp on the world, and am smarter than you. I fucking get it. It's why I've been arguing like I have in these two threads.

If you would only admit that you've been wrong as much as you've been right, you'd have something. Otherwise, it's just yelling to hear the sound of your own voice.

Why would I admit I am wrong? A) it's a message board and B) it's never happened yet, it's not about to start now.

Can we all admit that we're glad to finally see a sign of life on this board?

We're definitely getting older. The two threads that have the most heat right now are about bland music for 23 - 40 year old whites + yuppie food culture and politics.

That Foster The People song is my wife's new favorite song.

"Home" Ed Sharpe and the . . . and "Dog Days" Florence and the . . . get tons of play from the kids since each had a song in their summer theater camp plays . . . better than having to hear "let the sunshine in" over and over I suppose
