This is hilarious. The dumb fuck wasted 2 years on healthcare, something the greatest politician in our lifetimes Billy Fucking Clint couldn't do, and you schmoes are still unhappy? Because let's face it, 2nd term or not the guy's legacy is spending all of his time and effort on HCR, and bowing to Republican demands and thus affecting too small of a stimulus to actually help the economy.

And if he doesn't win a 2nd Term, that's the reason as well. 2 years spent talking about HCR, and 2 years spent NOT talking about jobs.

Although if anyone would go HAM and do what my pops is preaching about the military, the country would plotz. He's advocating firing everyone in the senior leadership above full colonel.

That he's done almost everything he said he would and wasted most of his first time on a liberal wish list item from way back: Health Care.

If the economy was anything close to humming we'd be talking about Barry in hushed tones over cool jazz.

he did a lot of great things with healthcare, but hardly what he campaigned on. And the mandate to buy insurance is a disgrace without a public option.

Oddly, I think it's too soon to make any judgment about HCR... they probably should have taken parts of it bit by bit... and done single issue legislation. As it happened it was so large that the default was the Republican plan (circa 1995) which essentially advantages private health insurance (and so, Big Pharma). As it unfolded the anger resulting from (manipulated) opinion about "the direction" of the country got huge turnout from the Wingnuts and very low turnout from the younger, less connected Obama block of New Majority. And it was turnout, not political will, that shifted. Americans voting for Obama - 66 million. Americans voting for Republican congress - 33 million. General election 2008 turnout - 62%. Mid-term election turnout - 44%.

Of course to say "we'd be lighting candles to Obama if the economy were strong" isn't very useful. If Jesus had returned this moring I wouldn't be typing, but rather I'd be in the Land o' Goshen in the air.

Also, no... Obama has a long list of "promises" of a "change" or (horrid!) even "progressive" agenda that have not been fulfilled... ICE arrests and deportations and much higher rate than under Shrub... guantanamo open and functioning... renditions increased... drone attacks at hugely higher levels... on and on. There perception that Obama has "let down" his base has plenty of evidence. And getting that base out to vote in 2012 is key to our future.

Yeah, much like how the Clinton Brothers never met a war they didn't support (Vietnam notwithstanding), Obama has not been a shrinking violet when it comes to lighting motherfuckers up on the battlefield. I mean, drone attacks are pretty insane when you really think about it.

No president wants to be perceived as weak so they tend to work extra hard at blowing shit up. The exception of course is Carter who was/is a real life pacifist and never blew anything up (except for inflation, interest rates and unemployment hardy har har) and was run out of town on a greased rail for his trouble.

Obama campaigned on expanding our troops in Afghanistan, so that shouldn't surprise anyone. We never hear anything new about Libya, I have no idea what's going on there.

does anyone else not find it utterly sickening that we are still deep in 3 fucking wars after all this time? after the fact that our long term finances are utterly appalling? and that there isn't a strong anti retarded war spending wing of congress now? it's clear this country is broken, most likely beyond repair. anyone yelping about government spending cannot be taken seriously if he or she is not strongly advocated a major defense pullback, including ending our involvement in iraq and afghanistan in the major military presense sense.

w/ 24 Navy SEALS and a bunch of support staff going down at the hands of Afghanistan fighters, I'm betting we cool it on the draw down there for a while. There's some saving face and example making that's gonna have to go on there, for however long it takes us to gin someone up as a threat/believable leader of the opposition, and soon after get their head on a pike.

Why would they want a different picture? That perfectly captures the batshit crazy in her eyes.

Read some quotes from her about gay marriage and children that just made my fucking blood boil. Like, it will encourage your kids to "try" gay marriage if it becomes legal. A) why is that bad, B) how is that even possible C) would it have encouraged HER to "try" gay marriage if had been legal when she was in school, D) why does that give me a baby stork?

Yep. Hats off to the photographer for truly capturing the truth of her.
