I have been shown!

I played hardball with that firm in Cincinnati, and they came back and raised their offer by $2K and also increased my signing bonus from $3K to $5K.

Woo Woo!

I have all but accepted, and am pretty much going.

Ironically a firm here in Chicago called me last night and I have an interview there tomorrow and that job would be a nice promotion. So I still have a card to play, but my days at this lame firm are numbered.

That's tough. I think I would rather be in Cincinnati at this point because our life would be so much easier financially and having my parents be around for Noah and his sibling.

But then I think: "what fun is there in easy?

Negotiating sucks. That is the first time I have ever done it.
I figured, what the hell, we weren't sure about moving anyway. If they said no, I would look for a job down there later when we were more prepared to move. Johanna was ok with it if they gave me a it more money. She is pretty ok with moving now and is sort of looking forward to it. We were surfing for homes on the net over the weekend.

I was shaking when I told them how much I wanted to make, and I was all sweaty when I was done. I am glad to have done it.

I'll miss Chicago too. I'll probably miss your IPO show too, Todd. :(

Good job TJ! Negotiating is a bitch, but always remember that you rarely get things you don't ask for.

Good Luck...If you are fairly sure you want the Cincy job, go into the Chicago firm tomorrow and ask for $10K more than Cincy is paying you. They will either pay it, or it will price you out of range, but either way you win ;)

Congrats, man. Things are lookin up for the Obs!!

Nope, I'll be here for another 3+ weeks. Unless you are sending it ground via usps and you live in Alaska.
