Yeah, the D looked ok at first, but got worn down. And Moore certainly took advantage of that.

The thing about Crowell is vintage Bobo era offense: don't keep the ball in the hands of the guy with the hot hand. If you get 6 yds on 4 straight runs try a screen pass or four.

Surprised no one has commented on Maryland's opening game jerseys:

Under Armor/UMD has definitely won since people are going ape on Twitter about these jerseys. When Lebron James comments, you know its gone viral.

The photos actually look kind of cool, but watching the game on TV I thought they looked AWFUL (and this is coming from a DUCK fan, lol)

I think 2 things are important here:

1. Everyone is talking Maryland football. These uniforms were/are talking pieces for the water cooler this morning.

2. They were only for this game, however, Maryland has 32 different uniform combos that the captains will pick out before each game. If it creates a sense of pride, then Edsall has already been successful in making the school's program better.

Also, and who knows whether this is hype or not--but UA is already reporting that people are trying to order the unis.

I like the uniforms or rather the idea of them. Good job Terps[ayah]. The Canes made a game of it though, we almost didn't fail as bad as we did.

I normally dig Paul Lukas and what he does at UniWatch blog, but he's being kinda a jerk about the whole UA/Maryland thing. I dunno, maybe when you insult my home state (even if they aren't my numero uno team) I get a little fussy and agitated.

Truth is, I hope this whole thing doesn't blow up in their face and ruin what could be a potentially great run in the ACC this year. I see losses to WVU and FSU, with the Notre Dame game being a push--we'll see how ND does in subsequent games. Clemson gave them problems last year, but there were wins with a ranked NC State, WF, VA and BC. FSU is going to be even harder this year if they truly are the team every says they are.

I'm still going to root for the guy since he is an alum but is also class all around. I just hope that the guy we went with, Mike Glennon, puts it together because good or bad, he is going to be compared to RW all year long. He looked somewhat shakey in his first game against the Jerry Falwells, but the staff has all the confidence in the world in him and showed that by opting for 2 years of him versus 1 more year of RW. I think he will be fine.

My alma mater, the University of South Dakota Coyotes, beat Eastern Washington this weekend. The Eagles were the #1 team in the FCS poll and nearly beat Washington last weekend.
They certainly had a more impressive victory than the Huskers did yesterday.
This saturday is the rubber match between Nebraska and Washington. I don't think the Husker offense will be as explosive as they were against the Huskies in Seattle, but they probably won't be as futile as they were in the bowl game either.

Marco are you still coming to the Nebraska/Washington game this weekend?
The line is currently 16.5 in favor of the Huskers. I like Nebraska at home in this game, but I wouldn't currently touch that line due to the overall play of the Huskers right now. The offensive can put up a ton of points thanks to Taylor Martinez, but has no power running game. The Defense was suppose to be stout, but looked real weak against the roll out pass and power running game of Fresno State.
It might be a high scoring thriller in Lincoln on Saturday.

Yeah, I'll be there and am looking forward to it.

I agree that Nebraska will win but 17 points seems high. UW looked much better vs. Hawaii. I think the offense can score on UN but their defense is very suspect at this time, especially their pass D. I'll call UN 37 UW 27.

I just hope it's not a blowout and that I don't get killed for wearing purple. I'll be sitting with my buddy who is a Nebraska alum and all of his in-laws who are rabid Husker fans. I've heard good things about the Nebraska fans so I suspect I'll be okay as long as I don't get obnoxious.

Still National Champs for a few more months i guess. At least in the FCS EWU can still win it all due to the playoffs.

The party line is: Coach Tom O'Brien needed a commitment from Wilson this spring because we were breaking in a brand new group of receivers, but he was off playing minor league baseball (which he did the year before as well) after being drafted by the Rockies.

After last season, everyone thought RW was off to a baseball career (State even included him in our senior day festivities even though he was technically a redshirt junior because he had already graduated). It wasn't until Wilson struggled in the minors in the spring that he expressed a desire to come back. TOB released him from his scholarship essentially to go with two more years of our now QB Mike Glennon (who was a highly rated recruit QB out of high school a few years back, #3 overall or so) that had sat on the bench for three years rather than one more year of Wilson. Needless to say, lots of State fans were and still not are happy with this decision.

The scary thing is that he was a great player at State (#2 in passing yards and TD's in ACC history behind Philip Rivers - with a decent chance to overtake Rivers in both) behind a spotty OL but can probably be even better behind the humongous OL that Wisconsin has. Every NCSU fan loves RW and will most likely be cheering for Wisconsin because of him. I'm certainly watching any game he is on tv and cheering for the Badgers.

Chuck Klosterman discusses small college offense.

About a quarter of the way thru, as well, Stops Breathin' & Kingfish should get a kick. I know I lollered, at that point.
