I finally got around to reading the grand jury report. It's horrifying. More disturbing than any sadistic japanese horror flick.

The guy is sick. Like, clearly unable to stop himself and SO MANY people knew some bad stuff was happening.

Awful.

Sam Stellatella, a three-position player in the 1950s, has donated money to Sandusky's defense and urged other former players to do the same.

"I told him he's going to need a million dollars to defend himself," the 73-year-old Stellatella said. "He called me back and said, 'What am I going to do with this money?' I said, 'Use it for your lawyer because you're going to need it.' "

Stellatella sent Sandusky $100. He wrote personal letters to other members of the 1959 Liberty Bowl team that defeated a Bear Bryant-coached Alabama team and asked they also donate. He does not know how much money was raised.

"I know some of the guys sent money," Stellatella told The Associated Press. "Here's the thing, these are horrendous charges against him. But he's still entitled to his day in court. Everybody's prejudged him. He's done horrendous damage to Paterno and (athletic director Tim) Curley and the football program. I don't listen to the news and I don't read the reports of what he did because I would get too upset.

"But he's still entitled to his day in court."

I'm all about forgiveness and believing no one is too far deprived for redemption, but man, I don't know that I'd give money to Sandusky's defense. I mean, true everyone gets their day in court, but I think its blatantly clear he wronged and committed a heinous act.

Also this is what public defenders are for, in the unlikely case that Sandusky doesn't have enough money to actually hire a lawyer. Sending him $100 is a useless gesture that says to the world that you are out of touch, and/or that your sympathies lie with the kiddie toucher. He will have a day in court, because he is a citizen of a country that guarantees it. People are outraged for good reason. This system is in balance.

Yeah, I wish I hadn't read it. There are some things you can't UN-know.

Has anyone else read that the original prosecutor has been missing since 2005 or something?

agreed, pure evil, yeah I said it, don't know how else to measure it

I suggest people try to read what they can to know what is beyond the press talk but honestly you read it all? I could not. The first was enough and the ongoing abuse of the first victim was so sick, more than fiction could ever attempt at horrifying, deceit, calculating, and evil purpose, repeating itself, witnesses and all.

i've been wondering if there's any connection between this scandal and how great blair thomas was in college / how he fell off the earth immediately after.

Looks like Penn St fans weren't all that classy before the game today

Fingers crossed for three straight PSU losses to close out the season. But given the clusterfuck of the Big Ten this year and an Ohio State loss to Purdue who fucking knows...

I'm sure the Wisconsin fans will keep it classy after Penn State gets raped in Madison.

Boise St. does it again. Everyone knew their kickers were an issue and they still didn't try to punch it in for 6 at the end. Yikes.

I was pulling for BSU, but they shouldn't of had that opportunity for the FG attempt--terrible PI call against TCU.

There was a Capital One Bowl Rep at the Nebraska/Penn State game. They really like the Huskers now that Ohio State lost to Purdue today. There could be a Nebraska vs Georgia game in Orlando on January 2nd, 2012.

P.S. I am glad the Huskers came out on top today. I thought Pelini was going to go nuts on the sideline when they wouldn't review a fumble play that gave Penn State possession of the ball, but the rest of the coaching staff kept his rage in check.

well i was wrong about the ducks. stanford moved the ball all over the field, but bogged down in the red zone. typical of the way the ducks play. don't give up the huge play, hold em to fg's. ducks offense figured things out and took advantage when they needed to. pretty impressive win.

Georgia went HAM on Allbarn. Me, Yail and Derris were all there. Good times.

Oregon was epic. I'd love to see an LSU and Oregon rematch... and I think the Ducks would win it.

LSU clearly lacking focus against the Hilltoppers. First time I've questioned Miles all year in starting Jefferson over Lee and basically playing him the entire game, only bringing Lee in at trash time. Not a big confidence boost to an obviously fragile psyche.

This will probably jinx it (plus the fact that Bob predicted it too  ), but I really think Oklahoma State will run the table. I'm also starting to think Arkansas will beat LSU. That would really mess things up.

Go Huskers (& Northwestern... we need them to knock off Michigan State).
