There's a jackass here in town w/ a radio show on one of the indie stations where he only plays new music released on cassettes. I've thus far resisted the urge to firebomb the studio, but each day is a challenge.

well that's fucking dumb to begin with...the way radio signals work cassettes sound horrible over the airwaves.

Nothing new to add to this discussion. Artists have been releasing cassettes for years. I dig the hand-painted/DIY ones.

As has been mentioned many times before I buy mostly cassettes (as well as the 3" CDRs that were mentioned) and appreciate the work that goes into each one.

I am spending my next two days off painting a stack of 50 that I made last weekend and will be selling them for all of $3 a piece at a shop I found here in DC. It's cheap, it's fun for me to paint all of these differently, and I like the idea of somebody putting my music into a tape deck and pressing the play button and listening to the whole thing vice skipping around via CD or mp3.

I love cassettes...I use one as my logo, I'm getting one tattooed on my arm, I bought a bunch in bulk and still give out mix tapes.

What's your logo look like man?

I bought one of these a few months ago, and though it has probably in some way contributed to me drinking more, it is probably the only thing in my house I actually like:
