Hahahaha! What a buncha dorks! From CNN:

'Star Wars' fans wait at wrong theater
Studio says film will open May 19 at ArcLight, not Chinese
Wednesday, April 6, 2005 Posted: 4:17 PM EDT (2017 GMT)

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- "Star Wars" fans will have to find the right theater before they can leave for the dark side.

Seven weeks before its release, "Star Wars" fanatics started lining up outside Grauman's Chinese Theater for the sixth installment of the popular George Lucas movie series. The vigil began Saturday.

But there's a problem: "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" won't be showing at the Hollywood landmark when the movie is released May 19. The studio, 20th Century Fox, opted instead to open the film a mile away at the ArcLight theater.

Still, the resolute "Star Wars" die-hards aren't moving on. Beneath a makeshift awning, 11 people refused to relinquish their spots in line.

"We've heard all this before," fan Sarah Sprague said, noting there were plenty of rumors in 1999 and 2002 that previous "Star Wars" movies weren't opening at the Chinese Theater. The rumors were false and the films were shown there.

Fox and the ArcLight haven't completed their "Star Wars" deal, but executives on both sides told Daily Variety "Revenge of the Sith" will play at the ArcLight, not the Chinese.

Yet Sprague was adamant the line wouldn't be moving to the ArcLight.

"This is still the epicenter for 'Star Wars' fans. For the big iconic pictures of the 1970s, people lining up were here. They weren't at the Cinerama Dome (at the ArcLight)," Sprague said.

Lucas' final "Star Wars" chapter spells out the last dark steps the once goodhearted young Anakin Skywalker takes to become the villain Darth Vader.

I saw them on Saturday night...told them that I thought it would be shown at the Arclight (because they have more digital projectors) and they kinda laughed at me....There was already a guy in an Obi-Won getup as well, which was funny...

This sort of behavior baffles me. Waiting in line for 6 weeks?? Where do they sleep? What about food? What about jobs and rent and all that garbage? I guess they have no other life outside of their obsession. Ha, and at the wrong theatre to boot. I mean, it's only a movie. That is all.

yeah well the Jedi prophesized Anakin to be the Chosen One, and well know how that went. Jedi don't always get everything right...

I have a client who recently adopted a baby boy. He is such a huge Star Wars geek that he named his new son, "Anakin".

Through subtle manipulations of the force a Jedi can go weeks without food or sleep. Unfortunately, the adverse affect is the complete elimination of all other cognitive abilities.

The Chosen One is meant to restore balance to the Force. At the beginning of Episode IV, there are two dark Jedi and two Light Jedi. I'd say the prophecy was right on.

<------------ Hasn't seen ANY Star Wars movie all the way through in one sitting ever. Especially the new ones. Same for Harry Potter movies and Lord Of The Ring movies.

I am an insomniac and one of the best ways for me to be able to fall asleep is to watch Star Wars (A New Hope) or The Empire Strikes Back. If I put either of those movies on, I'll be asleep before Luke tells Uncle Owen that he was going to go to Tashie Station to pick up some power converters or Han tells Luke that he looks like he could pull the ears off a Gandar (or words to that effect).

Forgive the semantic mistake, but Sith and Jedis seem to carry equal weight here. Which one is Darth Maul anyway?

Dark Jedi are mainly encountered only in the EU (expanded universe) which includes video games, books, and comics, NOT written by George Lucas. As a purist i detest these. You could call Count Dooku a Dark Jedi, since he was trained as a Jedi before becoming a Sith Apprentice. I would also label Darth Vader a Dark Jedi since he uses force powers, as does Dooku (eg. force grip, jump, etc.). Darth Sidious (the Emperor), uses Sith Lightning and no force abilites, and doesn't use a lightsabre. Darth Maul, though he wielded a double-bladed lightsabre, was a Sith.

EDIT: Jesus, what have i become??!!

Dork! That's cool, though, because it gets me clear on my balance prophecy theory.

- Darth Maul uses other force powers (telekinesis, et al.), and Episode I implies that he learned them from Sidious.
- How is Sith Lightning not a force ability? I thought Episode II implied that when Dooku used it.

Ultimate point here: Sidious + Vader = Kenobi + Yoda from a force perspective; thus the force is in balance. Kenobi's respect of this balance (and correct understanding of the prohecy, which the Jedi Council circa Episode I didn't have) is what drives him to concede to Vader in Episode IV once Luke was suffciently trained.

yes you are correct about the force balance. This renders all of the EU boks and comics useless because they tell tales of heaps of other Dark Jedi present during, after, and before A New Hope. Dooku learnt Sith Lightning from Sidious. Jedis can still use it, but if they dabble too much in the darker abilites (grip, lightning, destruction) they run the risk of turning to the DARK SIDE.

wait...by "bring balance to the force" what do they mean? What is the imbalance? I should know this...

That's my point. My take: the Jedi Council interprets imbalance as the Dark Side and the Chosen one as its elimination/defeat, but that's incorrect. Balance of the Force is equal parts light and dark. In Episodes I and II, there is way too much light. Anakin/Vader, being the Chosen One, restores balance by killing all of the Jedi except for Obi Wan and Yoda. I expect this to be a big part of Episode III.
