Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) — Knicks guard Jeremy Lin has been named the Eastern Conference player of the week after his sensational first week as an NBA starter.
Lin averaged 27.3 points and 8.3 assists while leading the Knicks to a 4-0 record. The undrafted Harvard graduate's 109 points are the most by an NBA player in his first four starts since the 1976-77 season, and he became the first player in NBA history to tally at least 20 points and seven assists in each of his first four starts.

Lin becomes the first player to win Player of the Week awards in the NBA and NBA Development League, where he was honored while playing for the Reno Bighorns.

The 8.3 assists is what really excites me bout it all!!! Fingers cross he can maintain 75% of what he has done when Amare and melo are back.

Maybe your best line in... ever.

I'll even admit to being fascinated by the Lin story but y'all realize that Carmelo is going to ruin all of this right?

We try not to discuss it much, although the last week of NY papers made it a back page story....

good story on the topic here.... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/w ... nba_t11_a5

and as caught up as I am in all things J.Lin, we got the scorers (Melo & Stat), and we got the defensive monter in the middle (Chandler), Lin might be (by far), the most important piece of the puzzle....If he can keep it up....

Has Woody Allen mistaken Jeremy Lin for Soon-Yi?

It prolly pains D. Marco even more than you: Oden's misfortune would have been a fitting result for Clay Bennett's underhandedness.

Well, if you're going to end a streak, you might as well end it with authority, am I right? I guess resting Parker and Duncan both might have had something to do with it. The picture accompanying the article I read showed Timmay openly yawning during the 4th quarter. Hilarious. Seriously though, I am beyond impressed with your Spurs. They simply will. not. die. And FT, the next time you feel the urge to launch one of your patented fly off the handle screeds about "POCKOVICH IS THE WORST COACH IN THE HISTORY OF TIME!!! I HOPE HE DIES OF BONE CANCER!!!!" or something to that effect, stop and give the guy a pass. He's earned it - that guy is seriously a wizard. I would take him over Phillip any day of the week.

thud.

glad to have you back, jerry! i'll cut popazit a break - this is just one of those situations resulting from a ridiculously compressed schedule. hard to stomach seeing them wave the white flag before tipoff, but i know it was done with may (and, God willing, june) in mind

Well, as a Jazz fan, at least now I have something team-related to look forward to during All-Star Weekend. Jeremy Evans has been added to the dunk contest. Feel free to consult Gerald Wallace regarding Evans' dunking ability:
