I was thinking we should vote on this here on the board.

The "East Baltimore Region" is stacked.

Yeah, we should do it. Why not?

Some of these first round match-ups are killing me, though.

How do you pick between Clay Davis and Bubbles?

The fact that The Greek isn't even seeded makes me think the whole process is out of whack - but I'm in.

How the fuck does Brother Mouzone get an 8 Seed and Wallace gets a 4?

Also, Mcnulty v. Daniels in the first round is a shitty draw.

I guess I'll post the matchups when I get home and give a time for when the voting ends, etc. it'll probably be a day behind the actual Grantland voting.

I'm kinda making up my own rules here (as a drunken Celt, I'm soooo McNulty) but the way I'm doing it I'm trying to imagine the following scenario.

If the highest seed was armed with a Swiss Army knife and lowest seed was armed with a bicycle chain who would win in a street brawl to the death?

OK, first one Omar Little v Ziggy Sobotka. That one is over in about a second.

Second one. Hmmm this is tougher. Cutty. Boxer, big guy, former street legend but question marks over his ability to go the whole way (no kill, no win). Hmmmm...I think I might have to sleep on this one, although the bicycle chain reach advantage may be crucial here.

I'd have a hard time voting between Omar and Marlo, although for some reason I find Bodie to be the most likable character.

Yeah Bodie is sort of my underrated favorite character on the Wire. It sounds stupid to type "I've identified with Bodie from the Wire in my life" but then here we are, Obner, here we are.

I'm not a big fan of Omar.

I can understand not being a fan of Omar, but is it even possible to vote for Ziggy? Like, in any conceivable match-up?

I'd vote Rawls over Ziggy.

I'd fuck Rawls before I'd vote for Ziggy over Omar. Just making a general comment on the semi-univeral love for Omar. It never really got to me.

I am looking forward to this bracket 1,000,000 times more than the actual March Madness bracket this year.

The Ports is the weakest region, by far. Hamsterdam is clearly the toughest.

Brother Mouzone getting an 8 seed is a travesty - he should be no lower than a 5.

Rawls is also seeded too low. Ziggy should be in the fucking Wire NIT.

The Wire NIT (seeds and brackets TBD):

Rhonda Pearlman
Beadie Russell
Clarence Royce
The Greek
Ellis Carver
Walon
Johnny Weeks
Jay Landsman

White people love him, somehow. It's basically a product of "I watched this show after being told to watch the show, and everyone said Omar the guy who robs everyone is awesome."

While I'd put him in the top 10 easy, and probably the Top 5, I think Strang, Von, Mahlo, Clay Davis and McNult are the Top 5.

I'm just gonna do one region per day so this doesn't overwhelm the front page.

I'd throw Slim Charles in over Johnny Weeks.
