My idea to devote my whole show tonight to Elephant 6/late '90s Athens bands got me thinking about other scenes of the last couple decades that had a more or less signature sound.
This might be a cool thing to do w/ the show; spend 2 hrs talking a little about and playing bands that made up a particular, not that well-known scenes.

Some off the top o' my head:
Columbus punk
Chicago industrial
Madchester
Detroit techno
Detroit garage

Gimme some more.

I was so into (and still like) that whole early 90s Boston college jangle-rock stuff.

and for a while the city of Dayton, OH was just fucking sick with awesome bands.

Dude, I know its not rock, but if you did a late 80s/early nineties LA/NY rap show, that would own.

You could do the Tribe/De LA/Black Sheep stuff

EPMD/Das EFX/Redman/Ksolo

NWA/ICE Cube/Ice T/DOC/NWA Solo/Michelle  /etc...

or even 90s Southern rap: Outkast, Goodie Mob, 8Ball and MJG, TELA, Scarface/ all the Suave House/ LaFace/whatever Def Jam South was when it was just Scarface and them

Can you post playlists or even stream this stuff for us Chad?

I'd suggest you do all late-60's Hollywood Soul...

Except everyone knows that no one in Hollywood has ever had a soul..
