After a week off, new "GOOG FRYGDAYG" episode up on our blog. And I swear we're going to get the distribution issues fixed and be up on itunes and all that soon. We are incrementalists lazy.

Good stuff, dudes, especially the LBJ suite anecdote and discussion of elitism vs. rights for exclusivity.

And, FWIW, I didn't know that Time journalist who wrote "Swampland" and you were on about. I also had to look up Begala and Fineman, but I recognized the former's face when I saw it. I guess that puts me in the Rory crowd?

GAR, re Tupac's ghost...

The Japanese did the hologram thing first with Hatsune Miku, and she sells out huge venues.

RE: "no one buying" Radiohead's Hail to the Thief
Quote:
Hail to the Thief entered at number three in the Billboard 200, selling 300,000 copies in its first week, more than its predecessors Kid A and Amnesiac. The album peaked at number one in the UK and stayed on the chart for fourteen weeks. It has sold more than a million copies worldwide.

RE: SXSW - I was there for 2 days this year and stood from Noon to 2:00am and walked miles upon miles. GAR - you'd fucking hate it. Bonnaroo - you'd fucking hate it worse, unless you were all VIP'd up. Grimey as hell, muddy or dusty, no in between. You would like Austin City Limits.

Yeah, I remembered how well Radiohead albums sold even as I was saying that. Still not necessary to release a Hail To The Thief expanded edition.

Kill Yourself while watching that Japanese movie that was "totally the Hunger Games before the Hunger Games."

And Chris has some misguided notion - I walk all the damn time - and remember I've done SXSW as well.

Catching up on your last few. The analysis of Springsteen's Irish accent brought some good lolz, and always good to have people working in the music industry as guest. Keep it up, gents.

D/l'ed 16 and 17 for the drive back from Wiscy to Boston. Leaving Boston tonight, driving a rental truck back Sunday and Monday. Stopping in Detroit to see an old friend Sunday night, maybe gonna hit up Bell's on the way there.

New episode (#19) is up at http://www.vescoisland.blogspot.com/. Forgot to mention it here but Part 1 of Episode 18 featured an interview with Obner's own Chad "Thee Chad" Swiatecki.

Also, semi-big news: You can now subscribe to the pod on itunes. Our page is HERE. Help some brothers out by subscribing, commenting and the like.

Looks like it's only in the US iTunes store, but I was able to subscribe and download nevertheless.

Only a matter of time 'fore I hear Krauth &/or Mowery on the BS Report.

I would advise Molly Lambert, Katie Baker, & the like not show up to work that day. Unless they want to see a giantism case showing off his fifteen-sixteenth.

I've been falling way behind on these, but since implementing my weekday 5:30 a.m. 2-mile walk regimen, Vesco Island has become the official soundtrack of my walk. Been listening to the "White Mike" episodes the last couple of mornings. Good stuff.

I don't have the 2 hour a day motocommute anymore, so I've had to listen at my desk during lunch. But it's honestly been worth it.

yeah, i dunno what it is but it's always entertaining and maybe because all the other talk shows are copies of one another and this is not, plus this is stuff we talk about on obner kind of, i look forward to it

i subscribed and heard up to Chad to day, dug'em all, the Shurman guy was a facsimile of so many types of people I know in my age group, and even sounds like I guy I know in Austin who moved from here to there

And Chad, that was great especially hearing how you landed at RS

Glad y'all are still enjoying it.

Only Episode 17 going forward will be on iTunes. We are paying more for less storage now but it gets us up on itunes and other platforms a lot easier so ultimately its worth it. The archive of old shows will always be around on the box for any newbs. (Strangely, a couple people recently have come in and d/l a bunch of old eps.)

Anyway, as I wrote on the blog, thanks for the support, guys. Hopefully it's easier to get now as well.

This is awesome. Thanks for listening and for feedback.

Y'all feel free to throw out subjects to tackle if you're feeling like we're missing stuff.

Finally catching up, thought I'd get to these (17 on) on that Wisc road trip, failed to upload correctly somehow.

Opening of 17 Pt 2, greatest American from Arkansas... John Cash was from Dyess, no?

Kingsland, actually. I did not know that until right this second though. I depend on Loogs for all my John R Cash info, guess he slipped on that one.

Was trying to think of why I thought "Dyess," and it looks like he grew up there.

(Dyess Wiki page) "It is best known for being the boyhood home of singer and songwriter Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash grew up on 4791 West County Road 924, Dyess, AR."

Would you play Sin City?
If the check cleared... I would HEADLINE Sin City.

Just to be clear, we're talking about Sun City, not Sin City.

Rare double typo, wow. I knew that, and yet typed it wrong twice.

Between that and hershel shitting chicken eggs, good work fellas. Had to cover my mouth a few times (I miss having a real office.)
