I honestly think it's 50-50 as to which team wins this series, but think it's almost a 100% certainty it goes all 7 games regardless of who prevails.

It's the de facto NBA finals.

It's definitely shaping up to be a series for the ages. And, despite their pedigree, awesome play, and #driveforfive, I just can't find myself rooting for The Spurs. They're the basketball equivalent of Lunesta. Just typing this is making me drowsy. It's not that I hate them - I just MEH them.

This except I do hate them.

hopefully, your boys don't hate them enough to mail it in tonight

it sure would be nice for that series to extend and let my boys get some rest before TEH HOOPENING

If Mark Wahlberg & Zooey Deschanel show up, I think it's almost a given Kawhi Leonard is getting shot trying to take it to Nick Collison's house.

New York is laughable. I'm pretty sure LeBron is happy in Miami.

god, you are dumb.

Lebron is entering his prime "Championship" years. He wants to win a title. If it doesn't happen in Miami, he'll go someplace else that offers him the best chance. Period. All 3, Bosh, Wade, and James signed 6 year deals that they can opt out of for free agency in 4 (2 season from now).

I've openly had to stop following Bill Simmons. His fanboy-dom for the NBA and slobbering over the KG and Paul Pierce was just too much.

Pittman and Haslem out for Game 6 of Heat/Pacers.

IMO, a bit harsh for Haslem, and not harsh enough for Pittman.

EDIT- my mistake, it's 1 game for Haslem and 3 games for Pittman.

Laugh away, buddy.

Wanna make a bet the Heat don't hang one of these up this year?

Yeah, Haslem shouldn't be out at all. And, honestly, I'm all for getting rid of Pittman.

As a Bucks rooter, I am sure it was gratifying to see Bogut compared to Ashlee Simpson.

So if the Spurs win the West, but lose in the Finals, they win the Larry O'Brian?

Was at a pool party earlier talking to a friend who watches a lot of hoops--we came to the conclusion that A. We are pulling for the Thunder, but B. It would be awesome for the Spurs to win it all. Quietest FIVE rings in history.

As for the East, I'm pulling for the Heat despite Dale's attempts to drive me away.

Damn.

Anyone (openly) rooting for the Thunder is going to get shanked by Marco.

Atlanta has lost not one but two hockey teams in my lifetime: My sympathy for the good folks of Seattle ran out a long time ago.

As for the the game, Holy Ginobili! Way to take over at the right time.

neither the spurs nor thunder would lose to the heat (or celtics, but c'mon)

In my opinion, if Spurs win it all, Tim Duncan should be considered to have had at least as great a career as Kobe has had. Kobe is a better scorer but by the end of his career Duncan will be in the Top15 or 20 in several statistical categories. Most underrated player in history.

One could even argue at that point that his 5 rings are more impressive than Kobe's simply because Kobe had Shaq in his prime. Duncan had Robinson but at the tail end of his career and was more or less a role player his last season (when they won the title)

I also would love for the Spurs to win because the NBA lurvs them some big markets and superstars and them winning flies in the face of all of that. Basically, fuck you Stern.

Seattle also lost the Pilots. (Who, yes, became my boys, the Brew Crew.)

Also, & more importantly, where Atlanta did not support the Flames/Thrashers, Seattle quite lustily supported the Sonics. (Only dampening their support at the end, when it became obvious "Just Clay back & enjoy it" Bennett had no intention of angling for a new arena in King County & was just biding his time for a calendar year.)

Last, imagine being the team/city that gets Kevin Durant over Greg Oden, then having to watch him leave after a year. & realizing, if you want to keep rooting for a pro team, you'll be rooting for the Oden-unled Trail Blazers.

SEA got the screwjob, starting with Howard Schultz... Making HS the anti-Ted Turner. (Your city's own mogul & (former) sports team owner who never once looked to move the team(s) he owned.)
