i should clarify that the heat absolutely did play their asses off and earned the title all the way - it wasn't a matter of the thunder giving it to the heat at all

The Heat were clearly the better team and Lebron deserves all the praise/credit and was without question the MVP of the league and the championship series. I liked his play in the series a lot, although I still think he should drive even more.

Having said that, the series was much closer than 4-1, and Durant was underperforming pretty much the whole time, Westbrook was inconsistent, and the great support players (starting with you Mr. funny beard) were completely off their game. Especially last night their defense helped make the Heat look like a team for the ages.

The Heat MAY be a team for ages. It's entirely possible. Only time will tell...but watch the Timberwolves next year.

FT's point has merit though IMO. Spurs were the hottest team in basketball and the Thunder dismantled them.

The Heat role players were the difference and no one could've predicted that. I mean, Mike Miller went 7 for 8 from 3 last night for fucksake. Chalmers was almost traded last off season and Battier scored 17 TWICE in the Finals.

But, for every Jordan or Kobe, there is a Paxson or Vukacic.

The other thing is that game 2 and 3 were VERY close - and after going down 3-1 what're ya gonna do? It's basically over anyway.

and, I think to some extent OKC had not seen as fierce a defense which nudged them off their game, maybe even shook their confidence a little
