how was that show? I was thinking of checking tem out in Lancaster, but then thought to myself "Why the fuck would I go out to Lancaster?" In retrospect, I probably shoulda gone.

they were real good. i'd not seen them before and was pretty impressed after initially being like, "that's what they look like?!" entertaining, except for some guy that was a friend of craig thinking he was suddenly the center of attention because craig said happy birthday to him and then asked him some question about his first show. yeah, good stuff.

They live in NYC and are currently on tour. Originally from these parts, but moved out to Brooklyn a few years back. I only know this bc I heard their in-studio performance on The Current a month ago.

Yeah, they are no longer from MPLS. Although Craig still talks of the twin cities in a good number of songs on the new record. They sent us a copy of the new record because we were designing a poster for them. That's how I gots my mits on it.

IF you're not Craig, are you aesthetic apparatus. Don't you know we have a "revealed" site.

FYI...

pitchfork has a track from the new album posted in their "singles review" section today. You who can download things at work/wherever you are could give it a peep from there...

I hear a little early Springsteen in "Your Little Hoodrat Friend" - and I mean that as a compliment.

craig's not really singing though, is he? i like to think of his particular talent as having more in common with "rap" than, say, jarvis cocker.

anyhow, i love 'em, have nothing but ecstatic things to say about their live show and them as people, and i just haven't had the time to digest the new record (hell, i'm still chewing on Almost Killed Me). as i've said elsewhere, i really need a lyrics sheet for this stuff...so rich with details, references, history, etc. and fun, dammit.
