i loved it and have seen it 3 times.

i think it's just the dialogue that does it for me. i find quick wit dialogue like that hilarious.

Naw, it's a good flick.

It's just a light hearted romp through existentialism or why are we here? type of thing. The dialogue is pretty funny, and it's got great characters. Everyone in it does a great job and if that didn't sell you, Naomi Watts wears very little at times. Mostly at the beginning of the flick. How could you fall asleep to that!

This movie would have made me really happy in college.

I remember actually giving a shit about "life and what its about" back then. Really enjoying sitting around and talking in circles with others about something that can't be universally defined. I really got off on that stuff.

Now, I have to pay rent and the eletricity bill is overdue.

I thought the movie was cute. I enjoyed the acting from all parties involved, though I found Jason Schwarzman (sp) strident as usual. Nice getting this movie made in this day and age. Suprised there weren't more explosions and such.

And I really proud for the set dresser that created Dustin's board of squares.

Ok, I seriously do love this movie. In fact, I downloaded it last night (hey, i've seen it 3 times in theaters, i should be allowed to view a shitty CAM)

I laugh when critics of this movie are trying to decipher it, because it apparently has some philosophical / existential theme to it.

I'll be the first to tell you that the theme sucks. There's much better movies that deal with the same topic.

But Huckabees is so much fun to me. I seriously just crack up at the dialogue, and I think Jude Law's character is pretty hilarious as well. Oh wait, so is Walhberg, and Schwartzmen and Hoffman and fucking everyone in this movie.

BERRY GOOD!

I can see why people wouldn't like it. But from my perspective, I think I hate you.

It's like last night, when my ex-gf told me she hated the movie High Fidelity, and couldn't finish it. I pimp slapped her through the phone.

My problem with High Fidelity is that I couldn't relate to the main character at all. I didn't know if I was supposed to feel sorry for him or think he's an asshole. His personality drove me insane.

Jack Black was the only reason I kept watching it.

Anyway, I'm thinking about seeing the Huckabees movie soon, maybe even this weekend. It's more of a comedy, right?

BUt, personally the best part of that movie was the preview for The LIfe Aqautic with Steve Zissou (the new Wes Anderson). What pisses me off is that it opens in NYC and LA on December 10th. Of course the rest of the country has to wait until Xmas.

What I find other than amusing is any article about the director of I (Heart) Huckabee's, Msr D. O. Russell, never includes that his first semi-major motion picture was Spanking the Monkey. Obviously, he's running from it now. As though movies about incest (and other outre sexual notions) are to be ashamed of. Clearly, the man has never seen Deliverance. Or, more recently, Birth (which was a total fuck-around, but Nicole Kidman is glamourous beyond anything else I have seen from Hollywood).

It's a political movie that pits an idealistic Dem against a greedy (w/ what he believes are good inentions) Repub. Who's sadness is more important? Who's life means more?

It was good, David O. Russell's intentions were good, but it was a victim of its own grandiosity. All of his ideas turned into a jumbled mess. It was the movie equivalent of a jamband concert w/out all of the cool lights.

Ugly woman, or transvestite?

(Hey! That sounds like a game-show parody that Letterman would do. Flash a picture of an ugly woman or transvestite, and have the audience guess which it is....)
