Damn, I though this was Animal(form the Road Warriors) vs. (Wildfire) TOMMY Rich.

WOW. That is anteresting piece of Boborabilia. He was NWA champ for 6 days in 1981.

Flair will always be my fave, but for under rated dudes who entertained, gimme "Hands of Stone" Ronnie GARvin.

1979-81 was the heyday of FT's obsession with professional wrestling. WTBS (as it was known in those days) had the greatest entertainment value, in large part thanks to the genius of the late, great Gordon Solie. Locally, I was a devoted follower of the NWA (pre-Dre), especially the cursed Von Erich family and the most ridiculous referee of all time, David Manning.

Another FT wrestling fun fact: Ivan Putski's kids went to my elementary school for one year. They wore "Polish Power" t-shirts EVERY DAY. I think I was in 4th grade at the time.

NOICE!! My grandparents accross the cul-de-sac neighbor was the Columbus/South GA/AL promoter for NWA (pre WCW, etc) so I know exactly of what you speak. Though several years later, I got see some serious ass shit when those dudes came to town, from damn near front row.

Midnight Express v. Russians in a scaffold match. Koloff v. Luger when Koloff decided it was time to defend Magnum TA's honor after the "Porsche crash"

86-91 was my heyday.

Perhaps a Gordon Solie Appreciation Thread is in order...

Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit/Bret Hart are the best ever.

more often than not, when i'm playing the drums i yell like animal.

i remember watching this on an old tape of the muppet show, as it was slightly before my time.

my favorite muppets are still the guy who threw fish and the crazy guy who blew up things.
