in chicago, it was sold out but a serious buyer's market with $20 tickets on stubhub and people practically giving away extras outside the venue beforehand. i'm not sure why, though.

I tried to win tickets to this through Decatur CD but no dice.

Shows have been getting raves but today is FemDerris' birthday so that takes precedent tonight.

I wanted to go this so badly, bass is such a great hall, but I'm gigging out of state that night.

I saw Byrne a few years ago. It was a great show and he played a lot of talking heads. Is that true of this tour too? I was wondering if the St. Vicent involvement would change that.

I would normally have picked up tickets for the LA show but it went on sale in a week that I'd already spent about $600-700 on shows (Leonard Cohen, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Devo/Blondie & the Book of Mormon). Still might pick up tix to the Greek show though.

I am indifferent to St Vincent, but David Byrne would be a big draw for me if this tour came around.

it's both of them on stage playing their own music among songs from their collaborative album. i think there were 3 talking heads songs here ("this must be the place", "burning down the house" and something else).

As am I, but together they made some serious magic. Truly complimented each other.

"Road to Nowhere"

Don't forget the huge horn section doing the choreographed movements all night: Tuba (from Red Barat), 2 (or was it 3?) Sax, 2 Trombone and Trumpet, with Drums and Keys/Programming.

billy, I think you'd enjoy it.

I still haven't heard that album yet but the reviews I've read were very positive. I'll probably go especially if I can pick up a reasonably priced ticket last minute but I won't lose sleep if it sells out before I get my act together.

Looks like I'm too late for a Philly date.
Ah well. I don't see many shows anymore, anyway.
