Because, you see, voting for Obama isn't voting for america.

also I love how Republicans take an unnecessary dumb position, then get mocked for it and then respond, "why are the Democrats wasting energy on such a trivial thing, what about the ecommmonee?"

I was unconvinced there was a scandal but then they put "gate" after it and now my doubts have vanished.

From the "Ruining Every Holiday To Indoctrinate Your Kids" file:

Curious to hear more of your thoughts on this, because I agree but would like to be better at explaining why.

A million reasons, but mainly because the Repubs chided Obama until he decided on the No Fly Zone in Libya, and then decided that he was unconstitionally starting a war and chided him FOR doing the No Fly Zone. Then criticized for killing Khaddafy (something Raygun couldn't do) and now they're saying he ignored calls for help and denied it was a terrorist act, when in fact the first interview he had on the subject HE CALLED IT AN ACT OF TERROR, but CBS (who "isn't covering this story because they're in the tank for Barry) didn't air that part.

It's the whole "Have your cake and eat it too" mentality that is infuriating.

Things are worse... Andrew Sullivan calls it a "cold Civil War" in the United States. I think most objective analysis would say the Repubs are "worse", although the tacit understanding that "both sides are at fault" obfuscates said analysis.

It seems to me that, this election, the Democrats are spinning the truth to fit their agenda, and the Republicans are ignoring the truth, to incite their base voters.

Absolutely things are worse. I'm used to politicians spinning the truth. But the utter disregard of facts that the Republican platform is pushing makes me sick.

Yeah, personally I have a bigger problem with "Barry the war criminal who goes around flying drones into sovereign nations and killing both the innocent and the (presumed) guilty" than "Barry the president who flubbed the response to a crisis in a foreign country when people were still trying to figure out what the fuck had happened", but no Republican has the sack to bring up the former because they approve of the policy.

I'm afraid that it could be more real than we know. I have a good friend with military brothers and he's mentioned post-election martial law a few times.

I saw/heard him say this the other day. My ears perked up because that is what it feels like. And, I would agree Repubs are "worse" but I also know I am bias. I would say I am an "above average know the issues" voter, but when I discuss issues with conservatives of my age it seems they do not know much on the issues. They're just voting Repub because they are staunch conservatives, which then, makes me think that they're dumb.

As an example ("spin", always a feature of the body politic, but "lies" usually done with more finesse in the past), 177k new jobs in the jobs report today, last month recalculated up 40k more than originally announced... digging more deeply, job growth not just seasonal, and seen across many sectors. Unemployment % uptick .01% - more reentering the job market.

Romney "another sad sign that the President is failing... unemployment higher now that when the president takes office..."

Feb 2009: 8.3%
Nov 2012: 7.9%

But the repub echo-chamber will just keep saying the lie, over and over, and any challenge will be characterized as "partisan attacks." They have (to paraphrase Grover Norquist) grabbed Truth and drowned the little sucker in the bathtub. And they get away with it..... i.e. climate change. Not to be overly dramatic, but the success at making truth and facts irrelevant really is Orwellian.
