i have not followed this at all outside of glancing at headlines, but I do know that my cousin, aunt and uncle just got back from Cuba and in 2013 it's not that hard to legally go to Cuba.

Yeah, you can pretty much travel freely from any country in the Americas to Cuba as a citizen of the United States without any issues. You just don't want to have your passport stamped when you get there, because the customs folks at the airport when you return tend to frown upon that sort of thing.

But if a celebrity does it, it's a whole different thing.

Its not Florida it is CANF http://www.canf.org/. I agree with you. Not as an official polling, but I get the vibe from many 2nd generation cubans that they want an open door to Cuba. Let capitalism influence the island from trade and tourism. The old guard is stalwart and vindictive in their loss, and rightly so, but changing that island has not worked well by shutting it out for the ast 60 years.
