that last batch i made, i had a little bit left in the fridge from about 8 days ago....holy fuck, did that stuff get hotter and hotter.... #toxic

First the hot sauce.
Then the shits.

Iiinteresting. I wonder why? Scovil units leeching out of the peppers more effectively with time, or maybe just reduced sweetnedd that makes it taste hotter?

think its just part of the marinating process....the blackberries just sitting there inthe vinegar and the peppers....

my mom made some fresh salsa years ago, that got hotter each day it was in the fridge..it was awesome!

I made some giardiniera this fall, and each jar I open seems to be hotter than the one before. I think the peppers are slowly releasing their heat into the oil over time.

Another music board I frequent sometimes goes days with no posts.

That said, you guys aren't very friendly, so why would anyone new join? Look at me, over 5k posts and I still feel like an outsider . Fucking clique in here, ya bastards!

I've tried to contribute a bit more lately....but i think i average 30 posts a year.

I actually come here every day, for the most part. I am part of the problem.

The board doesn't feel cliquey anymore. Everybody softened up, had kids, and gave up.

I haven't had any kids yet, but I've certainly become a bit more insular and more focused/concerned about my life in general than I am music these days. I spend most of my disposable income on craft beer and brewing supplies, and rarely go see a show any more due to my work schedule.

Yeah, I come by everyday, I just don't always have anything to say.

I feel like I already say too much.

So how do we fix the board? Personally, I'd like to see more individual threads about new music, in addition to the 'faves of 2013' type of thread. It might promote more conversation, and I know I often skip the big threads just because I don't want to wade through a few pages to find where I left off.

We should revive the RIYL thing too.

I drove to Marfa and back over the last two days because I bought a 2 inch tape machine. So yeah, busy making albums and teaching.

If I had more money I'd probably drink more.

Even the requisite "the death of obner" threads are kind of low energy. I have only recently stopped checking the board every day. Inevitable entropy... I wonder about the endgame.
