In the FitzGerald's sidebar. Cool intimate room. About 20 other people. He played two sets - you could hear a pin drop during every moment of both. Everyone was mesmerized and I heard some remark at the next table "it appears to be strictly an audience of believers...". Near the end of the second set he busted out "The Oldest Story in the World" by request and went right to a Nerves song as well. Was really cool and super approachable. Told us the usual anecdote about the high school guidance counselor and his desire to become an "itinerant bluesman" at 15.

Was really, really cool to see a dude who obviously plays every single day and is constantly honing his craft. He mostly played a twelve string acoustic tuned way down, but also had a six string acoustic with open tuning. He played a bit of piano as well. He's at a level of songwriting so far above most folks I see. Really inspiring. Catch him if you can.

In the Side Bar? Really? Damn.
That IS intimate!
Glad that you had a good time.

It was that adjoining banquet room, set up for a show. Not quite the sidebar, but basically. Still, such a cool place to see that show.

Been reading about all his stuff all morning. I need to get all of it. This is cool though - to see so many others do his stuff.
