Just came across this new project of Steve Ward (Cherry Twister) and Joe Pisapia: Fauna Flora. There are four songs which you can stream but this one sounds best to me:

Not sure that I really like it enough to buy it myself but I figured some people here might be interested in it.

That's a gorgeous song. Initially I figured I'd hear maybe a quarter of it and move on but it sucked me in.

Ditto.
Come payday, I'm gonna pick that one up.

Band from Charlotte. This one song is very Beach Fossils-ish. Want to hear more from these guys, and hope to catch a show of theirs soon.

Is there a full-length?
I like this.

Oh cool, glad to hear you are digging. No full-length that I know of. They just signed to a record label, so perhaps one is in the works.

They are releasing an EP in the next month or two, but here's a new song that was released today. The post says Real Estate x DIIV and that makes sense to me.

It's funny that you mention a quarter of it because I really like the first minute or so and then think it starts to drag for a bit before regaining my interest. If the whole album sounded like that, I would buy it.

I don't like this one at all though:

I think I probably like this one though even more than the first song:

Decisions, decisions

Happy Hour: Yeah that's kind of a mess of soft rock and indie pop. Parts f it want to have some teeth, but other parts (Joe's voice) are just so Air Supply that it doesn't work for me.

Mansard: Feels much more "right" for Joe's voice to me. This set of sounds (drums, backing strings, etc) suits him better. I like it.

Entire Jade Tree discography on Bandcamp. Not truly a "new" discovery but still kinda cool, even though I've only heard/liked a fraction of their output.

Oh wow, this is pretty cool, actually. There are a lot more Jade Tree releases that I like than I realized.

Just kinda stumbled upon them on the front page of the site. Lo-fi post punk/dream pop.
RIYL: The Strokes, lo-fi Best Coast stuff, Guided By Voices, Parquet Courts

Fuzzy post punk from another Charlotte band. I've realized lately that I need to check out local bands more than I have the past few years.

So, a little later, but I did pick it up. Couldn't resist the pull of Joe.

So how is it? And maybe more importantly how many songs have Joe on lead vocals. What's scared me off from picking it up yet is I get the impression from what I've read that its more of a Steve Ward project than a Joe Pisapia project. Steve Ward supposedly wrote all the songs and they list Steve Ward as lead vocalist and Joe P as providing backup vocals. I'm pretty sure its Joe P singing on the all the songs I've heard that I like and Steve Ward on vocals on the ones I don't.

I like it.
Only had one listen, but it sounds to me like Joe sings lead on a lot of it. And, truth be told, a lot of the songs sound like his writing, too. Not sure if Steve is maybe a great mimic in that way? But some of it is definitely more of a Ward feel -- but I happen to be a Cherry Twister fan, too. So the fact that I like those songs…
But no matter what, I can definitely hear Joe's presence on every song.
It's more Guster than solo Joe, but that's okay.

sorry if i'm scattered now, i'm just trying to answer you but am feeling a bit off.
hope it helps anyway.
