I'm so desperate to hear the new record. Anyone have a link?

Yeah that link worked for me. Record is good, I think.

Streaming at NPR Music now here: http://www.npr.org/2015/07/12/420832435 ... a-currents

My first impression (having heard the singles multiple times before hearing the full album) is that while its completely different from Innerspeaker and Lonerism in that its not a guitar-heavy psych rock, its still very much Tame Impala. Just a more disco, r&b Tame Impala.

Went to pick it up on Friday and what the hell, the vinyl is $27 for black vinyl and $30 for colored? Is this what things are headed toward?

Is it one record or two?

But yeah, that's what it looks like. The new Isbell (2LP) was going for $30 on pre-order.

$20 is about my limit but I don't buy that many these days.

Hence me skipping a lot of new music and buying a lot of CDs of 1990s stuff from the dollar bin these days.

Yea, its a 2LP. I still wasn't expecting much more than $20 though.

It's not wearing well for me. Probably 4 good songs, and then a lot of loose synthy whatever.

Seems like new records have become a form of conspicuous consumption for the young folks, especially with all these limited edition colored vinyl versions. I often see comments on Rdio like "got this on vinyl, so good". Personally I'm never going to pay $20 for a new record when I can get the CD for $10.

I don't mind them so much, but really prefer Feral Cutlass.

You know, the more I think about it, that's really not an awful band name.
