[quote="DHRjericho"]I like Klosterman and i like SPIN. SPIN is a cheap magazine that i find entertaining. I take everything in it with a grain of salt but it does provide me with entertainment.

I could care what anyone thinks about that.

I also read DIW, Big Takeover, Magnet and ESPN the mag for entertainment.

Sue me.[/quote

i gave up on SPIN t his year, even though it's like 35 cnets an issue on some subscription plans. it's just a big pile of dung. But i still get Rolling Stone and love it, so i will never judge anyone.

You forgot Kings of Leon. It is quite awesome.

Y'know, I was one of the few who placed Youth And Young Manhood on his end of the year Top 20 list, and I always thought (and still think) the dismissal of that album was an unfair reaction to NME hype as well as a mostly imagined oversaturation of the Strokes. So when the same people who hadn't given their debut a chance started praising the new album, I knew it'd be best to approach it with cautious expectations. But even still, I was not prepared for my absolute and total dislike of Aha Shake Heartbreak. I played it for a couple days straight in an attempt to find the same band I had liked, but eventually had to sell the fugger before it ruined my appreciation of YAYM.

That's not the first time I've heard this; A friend of mine did the same thing, big fan of YAYM, but could not stand ASH. I honestly enjoy them both equally, but it took me awhile to get it, but once I did I'm glad I gave it a chance. 'Soft' and 'King of the Rodeo' are great.

You sir are an enigma to me at times. I don't think it's as strong as YAYM but certainly not "sell back unworthy" IMO.

Another reason I"m finding it hard to make a mix for you.

Fair enough. I thought it got ripped unfairly, just because. It's worth a listen.

friend of mine said it was about as good as the corgan-influenced hole album, which is means i'd probably like it, but with so much music to choose from, i figure i'd rather listen to something else.

would you rate it in a top 21 of 01-04?

Tough call.... if she did make it on the list, it would probably be 20 or 21. It's worth a look actually. Once my work settles down, I think I'll do this for fun and see where it lands.

See, this isn't his Top 21 of the 2000's; Its just 21 Albums. Read the intro here folks and don't be so ob-sessed with lists.

(not a crack on you paladisiac, i just used your quote to make a point)

Onward Christian soldiers.
