My brand new amplifier caught on fire in Iowa City on Friday. I had it a month and 4 days. I had to wait till monday to talk to the manufacturer. It took me a couple phone calls to get us all on the same page. The amp catching on fire also blew out the cabs, so i took those in for repair on Monday night to the local authorized shop. Then UPS was supposed to pick up yesterday. They left the slip and ran.

I need this back and working 2 weeks from yesterday.

yep - ups is the worst. i love how, even if you call them and tell them you won't be available for a pickup they'll still make like 5 attempts on 5 seperate days before they'll leave a package at the depot for you.

Both of my cabinets got fried, so at the moment no. I do have friends who are helping me out. I have another smaller mesa head, just no cabs to run it through.

So i'm limping for a bit.

At least they just picked it up, and upgraded it to overnight, so it'll get there tomorrow, which is when it should have gotten there ANYWAYS.

Thanks dude. People have offered me some nice gear for the night of the cd release, but there's just something about getting the sound you want out of your own gear. I mean, shit, that's why I spent big coin on the rig in the first place.

The main UPS joint in Cleveland isn't actually in Cleveland, but they never said what suburb it WAS in, just that it was on E. 69th. So i'm driving around in the hood looking for E. 69th and whatever the cross street was, no luck though. Then I find myself at the intersection of E. 69th and Beaver. I still want to steal that street sign, pole and all.

I eventually made it to whatever suburban hell the UPS was in.

I'll let you play me like a human beatbox or something. Where should I show up, and when?
