So ARTISTdirect just sold me the new Weezer album for $4.99 plus shipping. All in all it was still a few bucks cheaper than buying it in the stores when it comes out, so I figured why not give it a try.

Any thoughts? Is ARTISTdirect a quality site? I've gotten e-mails from them for years, but I've never bought from them before... here's hoping I didn't get hosed.

You didn't get hosed.
If you had been in a fraternity, THEN you would have gotten hosed – weekly.

(Hi Jeff.)

Actually, let me know how that album is. I've heard the single and it wasn't bad.

I'll be honest... I'm not entirely looking forward to the new Weezer, but this is a band that I've become a completist with. I have all of the other records, and if i can spend less money buying this one than i would if I bought at Best Buy, then I figured I (slightly) won out here.

Still, i want Matt Sharp back in Weezer post haste.

You guys must stay up pretty late some nights stirring up that black caldron of Hater-Ade, eh?

(i'm with you on the single, but i'll buy the rekkid anyway, b/c i have a Pavlovian reaction to certain bands' releases---for good or ill)

After growing up in the mid-90's in Southern California, I am obligated by rite-of-passage to buy every Weezer album/DVD when it comes out.

It's not a good thing, but I haven't found the right "Friends of Bill"-style group to help support me and put me on the road to recovery...

You're the one that feels obligated to buy a band's album because they were from California. You must be one poor motherfucker. Oh, and you're the faggots that do the surfing, homos.
