The second album sounded like songs were thrown together with a bit of pop culture reference and then played over discarded game show themes from the 70s.
haha, yeah pretty much.
this is one band that i enjoy listening to on my stereo, but they were absolute shit live.
yeah, we saw them open for the pixies and yeah, they werent that hot.
I'll agree with the above about the first album being pretty good and the second being unlistenable.
Any word on whether they've got something else in the pipeline?
I don't even remember this. Like, have NO RECOLLECTION that they were on that bill. I did, however see them on a bill with Blanche and The Walkmen at SXSW a few years ago, and they were fucking TEGNIBLE. They too forever to set up, played like 4 songs, and kept switching instruments.
And then I saw the one dude (Connor Deezey) walking around in an open haze at some Filter Magazine party. I couldn't decide whether he seemed cool, or like he was trying too hard, so I spent most of my time chatting up some amazon and guzzling as many free Vodka and Rockstars as possible at 10am.
