He's the guy who wrote the tune for My Country Tis Of Thee. I sang it at church today.

I used to work for the commonwealth accountancy examination board and we had a lot of African students with great names.

My all time favourite is Cleopatra Tonton Zola Makoko N'Kalongo, but I think Cyril Zulu and Augustine Okah-Daddi both deserve mentions.

And of course there's my former bank customer Mr Zzz.

EDIT: There's a member of the Scottish Parliament called Bristow Muldoon which is also a fantastic name.

Still, it is a good name. If someone with a shitty name like, say, Badly Drawn Boy wanted a new moniker, he might want to consider it.

I'd say you are spot on on both points. Except maybe the second one- dude does actually appear to be a badly drawn boy.

Growing up in St. Croix there was a TV newscaster named Aquanette Chinnery White. Real name.

There's a doctor in this area named Mang Boshir.

And a realtor in this town called Spice Lucks.

My freshman roommate's high-school classmate, Dick Money, deserves a shout here.

I think there are certain names you can give to your child that guarantees they will become a realtor.

Also, there's a guy near here named Ed Harraway, who goes by "Special Ed". No lie.

Reminds me of the Stoner who ran for office in South Milwaukee a few years back. Mysteriously, all his yard signs were being stolen from his supports's yards... But not by a rival candidate's black ops. No, no - the local high-school students were taking them and putting them on their lockers.

A realtor here in Phoenix is named Gary Swallows. I see his ads most often at the movie theater in their "pre-show entertainment" slide-show of ads. There's almost always someone who makes a comment.

The Driver's Ed teacher at my high school was named Richard (Dick) Weed.

I get a chuckle everytime I hear the name of former CNN and current WXIA weather stooge Flip Spiceland.

I had a counselor in 1st year of college named Kenneth Rape. Holy shit, talk about youthful trauma that must have had. He was just starting his own family at the time, and was in the process of changing it to Ray.

Legal Name Change Announcement: Kenneth Rape would like it known that he is changing his name. He shall forthwith be known as Ray Rape.

Bimbo is a major label Bread (like Wonder) in Mexico, I used to have a football (sorry, soccer) jersey that said BIMBO across the front, good for picking up chicks, believe it or not....

I tried to get a "Bimbo" plaque in Costa Rica a few years ago, to no avail.......

I would think that this would deserve its own thread, but the silly name thread also seems apropos for it.
