Today is our school's gallery walk. For those who aren't aware what that is, the teachers divvy up by grade level and subject level and make tri-fold science fair style boards with the obligatory graphs and examples of student work, then we walk around and write anonymous comments, then everyone makes a 5 minute presentation. It might be the gayest thing ever (i really gotta come up with a better phrase than that, chalk it up to growing up as a boy in the 80's/90's).

I mean, come on, we're educators, and now we're doing this dog and pony show to pat each other on the back, or pick on each other? Stupid. I took the time alotted for this and practiced music for the graduation that I'm not obligated to play at (but I am anyways). So...

I didn't make a board. I'm sitting in an office within earshot, but out of sight, until such time as i can make a break, clock out, and not lose money.

I wish I had earphones. I think I'll play some sudoku.

not an option. At my disposal are a trash can (too loud without the trashbag, probably too loud with), a school guitar (probably also loud), the carpet (i'm not an animal, I'M A NINJA), and various cardboad boxes filled with my librarian friend's stuff (i don't think she'd be pleased, although she's at a different school today for a mentor meeting so maybe it'd dry out by tomorrow morning).

For 14 more school days. If i had realized that today was that day, i just would have taken a zero day (no pay) stayed at home, hung out with the dog and the girl, but I didn't realize it till I clocked in, and by then if i had clocked out, they would know I wasn't "sick".
