good idea; jazz at BMG can be tricky cuz they got a mix of old cds with new remasters w bonus cuts and even a couple SACDs ; stuff can disappear, e.g., Monk's Music remaster
Archie Shepp - Attica Blues (A MUST!) ///they don't got fire music
Hank mobley - Soul Station (pretty short album; remaster but no bonus cuts but this is the one to get by him i agree)
Sonny Rollins - Tenor Madness /// currently they only version they got of this is the SACD hybrid but it's 24.98 and would count as 2 CDs i bet; a new 2 CD they got is The Essential Sonny Rollins: The RCA Years
Gabor Szabo - Spellbinder
Albert Ayler - New Grass (they don't have Spiritual Unity)
Bill Evans - Waltz for Debby /// not a remaster it appears (i would have sworn they also had companion Sunday at Village Vanguard remaster w bonus cuts but all alts. but it's not currently listed;)
Horace Silver - Serenade To A Soul Sister/Cape Verdean Blues/Song For My Father /// this is a good choice but not a remaster i think: 'Horace Silver And The Jazz Messengers'
Freddie Hubbard - Red Clay
Lee Morgan - the Sidewinder i think this is the RVG remaster; good call
Jimmy Smith - The Sermon
Jimmy McGriff - the Worm
Lou Donaldson - The Natural Soul
Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage/Headhunters/Speak Like A Child
Quincey Jones - Walking in Space
Thelonius Monk - Brilliant Corners/Solo Monk other monk: Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane (SACD Hybrid) and it's only 18.98 list same as ordinary CDs; also Thelonious Monk Quartet With John Coltrane At Carnegie Hall (2005 release of uncovered tape)
I did an album title search for SACD and most of the SACD hybrids are 24.98. Some 18.98 exceptions are Derek & the Dominos : Layla and Clapton 461 Ocean Boulevard w/ bonus cuts , Carpenters Singles, and a few Elton Johns. The Dylans are 19.98 so may not work for enrollment as a 1 disc selection.
A great jazz get from BMG is 'Mingus Ah Um' remaster. they currently don't have a lot of Mingus for some reason. Snap this one up!
