I think I am up to 3 Liters, measured by this Poland Spring bottle and a Nalgene that I have.

I've been trying to go off* coffee/caffeine and increase the water intake lately, hence my interest in the subject.

So.

So?

KPH

* for the past year, I've probably been overdoing it, maxing out at around 6 cups per day, 2 espressos in the morning, and the occasional grande whatever after work. A little bird tells me it is time to cut back.

in preparing for my drug test i was up to like 11 and it was driving me nuts because i had to run to the bathroom about 9 times a day. I was lectured endlessly about how good it is to drink that much water, etc... but most of that was debunked later so now i don't know what to think.
I too am cutting back on caffeine (formerly about 6-8 shots of espresso a day, now 1 cup coffee, 1 tea, 1 shot of espresso) so i'm drinking more water than before, but i top out ar around 5 or 6 cups.

About 1 to 1.5 gallons [128 oz.] a day, easy.

I drink a 32 oz. Gatorade bottle of water with my breakfast; refill a 20 oz. Aquafina bottle at work 5-7 times a day and drink another 32 oz. Gatorade bottle at night. I also often drink a 24 oz. bottle of Propel after I exercise. Sometimes I also drink another Propel with dinner and fill the bottle up at work more than the average of 5-7.

Kevin,
be careful. My meds give me a really bad dry mouth so I can drink up to 4 or even 5 or 6 liters a day...I seriously chug it.
BUT it often has a negative effect bc it washes out your electrolytes. Water IS a direuretic.
I fainted last week bc I was over hydrated. I have been trying to cut back a little AND make sure I work in some liquids w electrolytes ie smart water or watered down gatorate (which I hate but it's good)

also, you probably don't have to obsess as much over water if you cut back on caffeine bc you won't be peeing it out as much now.

Min. 7 Litres a day...

I have a 1.5L bottle at my desk that I constantly am refilling...

Plus, since I cut soda/coffee out of my diet, I'm strictly a tea man - and I don't even drink that every day anymore...

I drink some serious water, and diet coke. Probably 3-4 diet cokes, and 7- 10 bottles of water a day. I am constantly drinking and peeing.

Depends.

I generally drink a lot. I have a bottle that I refill a few times a day. But I also have a cup or two of my decaf( I quit caffeine last september, sucked at first, now I'm terrified of it) and I'll have some iced tea or something. I'm not a big soda drinker anymore. Mainly it's used for rum and cokes if I have em, but that's about it.

Yup. Most people don't realize that the recommended intake of water (something like six 8 oz. glasses/day) is meant to include the water you take in from all sources, including your food, sodas, coffee, and whatever else you ingest. For some reason, in recent years we've come to believe this myth that drinking LOTS of water is necessary for good health - but it's highly unlikely the human body could have evolved to this point with a need for that much fresh water.

but you can drink waaay beyond the 8 8oz glasses a day before it becomes negative. I drink gallons a day (ask neuro I drive him nuts) and that's where it becomes a problem.

Probably a gallaon of water; 2-3 cups of cofee and maybe a gatorade or two particularly on days when I am working outside.

I figure this is probably about the right mix considering the amount of alcohol that I intake.

i guess I am just not very thirsty. i could not drink more than 2 or 3 cups of water per day. maybe because it rains so much here I don't get dehydrated.

Not much, especially considering I've had two kidney stones.

At least 80oz a day.

Between a quart and a half gallon. Good thing about living in the country, I don't have to worry about Poland Springs and whatever that other brand was. Tap for me.

Me too. Not sure how much I drink but judging by my trips to the bathroom, I have to be getting the daily requirement. In fact, I have to go now.
