I refill a 16oz. container/glass 2-3 times at work during the day.

I dont drink soda unless there is no other option, and coffee and I dont go well together. I think I made her pay on a date or something.

KG - chances are very good that I won't be exceeding this much water (the 3 liters) a day, plus a glass or 2 of cranberry/pomegranate juice. i just don't get that thirsty.

it's mostly about getting more water in my (horrific) diet and kicking the caffeine habit/addiction (as i elaborated on in my LJ).

cool, thanks for all the comments everyone - glad to know i'm in typically good obnerish company.

i'd think at least a gallon. my glasses hold about 2 cups worth and i refill them constantly, probably 5-10 times/day depending on what i'm doing. and then i usually drink between 1-2 litres at the gym.

Kevin,
be careful. My meds give me a really bad dry mouth so I can drink up to 4 or even 5 or 6 liters a day...I seriously chug it.
BUT it often has a negative effect bc it washes out your electrolytes. Water IS a direuretic.
I fainted last week bc I was over hydrated. I have been trying to cut back a little AND make sure I work in some liquids w electrolytes ie smart water or watered down gatorate (which I hate but it's good)

ok now THAT'S pretty scary b/c fainting from hyrdration is exceedingly difficult to do. you're not washing out your electrolytes--your just diluting yourself. But it's good to hear you're switching to electrolyte-laden fluid if you must drink so much b/c even small cerebral edema is NO joke.

My intake depends on my physical activity. Generally, I drink water when I am thirsty. Or when my pee is yellow.

I find my body lets me know what it needs so I don't think too much about it.

my doctor said the same thing...he told me, when at the gym and doing strenous activity where your thirst builds up, its much better to drink a sports drink, then regular water....

I have a problem about buying water so I rarely drink 'pure' water.

I do drink alot of soda (as you call it), tea, fruit juice etc though so I'm not going to go all flaky and desicated or anything.
