I wouldnt like to get spit on either, but she kinda does deserve it.

This is what I heard on talk radio, but could be lacking details....

Apparently he was mad at her for sitting on a North Vietnamese Gun Turret during a press/peace tour during the Vietnam War, and apparently she was smiling and laughing about it. Knowing that said gun could have killed many American soldiers was not cool. I was too little then to know really what happened, but can see her doing that. If some American Celeb was sitting on a Nazi gun, during WWII, and laughing about it, then later didnt acknowledge fault would that be okay? I woulda spit too if I was a Vet from that era.

I'm no big fan of Jane Fonda but no one deserves to be spit on. Guys a jackass.

Yeah, but Ho Chi Minh was no Hitler. I might be completely off base here, but I believe there was some dissent over Vietnam. Stupid on Hanoi Jane's part? Yes. Spittable offense? Nope. Oh, this is also an opinion shared by vets from that era.

It should be mentioned that Fonda did apologize for her visit to the North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun site.

imo, spitting in someones face is the worst thing you can physically do to someone. even worse than kicking someone in the balls. he shouldve have had some class, and deal with his problem a little more civally.

Or maybe he'd just seen 'Iris & Stanely'.

Spitting is disgusting though. One time the 'leader' of a group of teenagers spat on me as I walked past them in the street. Seriously, if it hadn't been broad daylight with a lot of people about I would have killed him. I don't think I've ever been so mad.

Spitting on someone over something that they not only apologized for but did over 30 years ago is quite juvenile. And then he gets arrested for it. And then she doesn't press charges. Made himself look like quite the fucktard if you ask me.

I thought the worst part of it was that right after, he ran away like a little bitch. You know, I think it's reprehensible behavior...but if yer gonna do it, stand there afterwards & take yer medicine like a fucking man.

Fonda has been trying to mend fences since she became a Christian a few years ago.

She never sat on the turret to support the Vietcong. She was there to try to stop the military from blowing up dikes and dams that Vietnamese people needed. Sitting on the turret was stupid and offensive, but it sure takes a big man to spit on a 67 year old woman, now doesn't it?

This guy also says Fonda's non-support of the Vietnam War is unforgiveable.

Funny, I have relatives who were badly wounded in that same war who don't support that war.

I in no way approve of what the Vet/man did to Jane Fonda. I do feel that there are many vets and others who feel that she went over the line. I have never been a fan, wouldnt spit on her or anyone else, but I can't help feeling that many vets still feel very wronged by her.

The news reporter who I heard on the radio mentioned this:

As something that is commonly worn by Vet bikers. It was easy to find online for sale. ???

Wronged by an ACTRESS?

As one who has had many relatives serve in wars, I just would say "please get a grip on the victimology issues, or at least achieve some manner of perspective, considering you've had thirty years to work on it."

The woman is an actress. It's not like she was vice president or something.

That patch is pathetic, by the way, and screams out psychological issues that have very little to do with Fonda.

This is true, this dude is an idiot. But I was neither surprised, nor necessarily pissed about it. Kinda like, ya get what ya give Jane-y.

I mean, my pops is one of the better adjusted mass murderers of our time, but even he won't watch Fonda flicks...not even shit like Coming Home.
