i'm glad he's out there as a character but he hasn't been shit since he threw that behind the back/off the elbow pass in that rookie/sophomore game.

Damn, I'm sorry I missed that! Did they include Jim Mora's classic "PLAYOFFS?!?!?" bit? How about Bobby Knight's "Man of 1,000 Faces" contortionist exhibition?

they did the Mora but they chose the Knight scene where he chewed out the guy from the NCAA for saying that Knight wasn't going to make the post game press conference.

pretty much a must win situation for the nugs. hopefully melo can take out ginobli's knees or something.

Yeah, since his late-game attempt to take out Manu's head failed miserably! Sorry, Jason, but I think the window may have slammed back shut on Cap'n Karl and Co. Good news for me, though. Time for you to start getting ready for Dolphins season...

Another classic. One day, they should do a Top 10 of nothing but Knight meltdowns/tirades. I would burn that fucker to DVD for posterity!

Get it together Rockets. Dammit.
btw the no call when Finley was out of bounds at the end of game 5 was absurde. he clearly had both feet out of bounds.

almost as bad was the ref "anticipating" the foul moments later. houston has no shot when that kind of break happens, not that i care as i bet on dallas.

yeah that play was absurd too because it look like they had a decent trap on Finley. I'm a die hard Rockets fan but when they call that along with moving screens on Yao it makes it much more difficult.

also, Smug Stern fining Van Gundy $100K for the comments he made about something a ref told him is insane. The fact that Stern is threatening further action on Van Gundy is even crazier. I hate Stern. The guy is a little tyrant.

Stern is the man, and in my opinion far and away the best commisioner in american professional sports (not a hard title to take, but still) with the most difficult job (in terms of scope). Van Gundy impunged the integrity of the refs as a whole and the league in its entirety. he'll be lucky if he escapes without suspension and he'll deserve it.

OK, but what if Van Gundy is right? Something seems a bit off about Stern's reaction, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

if he's right then he needs to cop to the name of his source and then that problem's gonna get solved in a couple of holes in the desert.

how many bodies do you think can fit in the trunk of Van Gundy's Honda Civic?

yeah i thought the same thing. According to how much he was fined, this is the 'worst' thing a coach had ever done in league history. Stern seems like he's trying to keep something quiet.

And how come no one is talking about the Sonics? Ray Allen is leading the playoffs in PPG, and Jerome James is going off. They've got an excellent bench, and although they are on of the best outside shooting teams in the playoffs, theyve got a nice inside game to complement this. Once Rashard Lewis finds his rhythm they're gonna be one heck of a dark horse.

The most frustrating thing about these playoffs is that ESPN Australia plays one NBA playoff game per week. They play around 4 regular season baseball games per week, and baseball isn't even a sport here. I have never met someone who plays baseball, and basketball is our fourth biggest sport, yet NBA playoffs get a quarter of the screen time as regular season baseball. I'd be able to live with it if baseball had an audience here, but it simply doesn't. Baseball here is the equivalent of rugby in America. But what is even more frustrating than this, is that NBA gets about as much screen time every week as dog adventure sports, ie. dog rescues, hunting dogs, etc...ON FREAKIN' ESPN. It just makes no sense. About four years ago, when basketball and NBA basketball here was at an all time low in popularity, there was at least 4 games per week on cable tv. Now, when popularity is on the rise, there is 1 game per week. We're living in a country where no one has ever heard of Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, or even Andrew Bogut, who is AUSTRALIAN. And even when Bogut gets drafted (probably at number 1), no one here will blink an eye.

i think that it's because the winner has to play San Antonio and no matter how banged up tim duncan is that team is deep enough and experienced enough to wreck shop all over the winner of this series.

I couldn't give a fuck about basketball or the playoffs, but I will not stand idly by while you traffic in open misinformation.

Stern couldn't hold Tagliabue's jock, my man. Just witness this controversy, vs. Tags' and Co.'s masterful performance with the Congress (So good, you barely even noticed.)

LJ also only had like 3 good years, but he was as explosive as anyone for those years. man those years on the knicks were an indignity.
