You can get entry level B&W's for less than that, and nicer ones for a comparable price.

I'm no good at converting to USD from GBP.

hmm? don't know but i love the look of those b&w speakers. they carry them at the audio store in town so i can go listen to them. i've decided to save for real good stuff.

And BTW - the above description for hooking up yer PC to a stereo system is spot on...that's the type of hookup I have. Sounds great...& I have a hi-fi VCR set up so I can tape things from the web.

So, I ended up purchasing:

Speakers: B&W 601's
Receiver: Sony STR-DE598
CD Player: Sony SCD-CE595

The speakers won't arrive until either this Wednesday or next Wednesday. I can't wait to have this set up! Thanks again for all the help.
