Lately it seems like anything I eat needs hot sauce. Sometimes even the simplest of foods, like eggs. Fish, yep, beans and rice, yep, tortilla chips, yep, just plain corn tortillas YEP!

Addicted to Blair's Death Sauce, and Blair's Heat Jalapeno Tequila Hot Sauce. Also ordered Bee Sting Mango Passion, Pain Is Good #114, and Dave's Ultimate Insanity. I'm ordering these fuckers like cd's.

Anyone have a favorite? Turn me on. Are you a total geek like me and order them online?

Thanks food tv.

I've been swearing by Red Rooster on just about anything for a few months...
Not just hot, but has a richness of flavor to it as well...

If it's good enough for Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, it's good enough for me...

Crystal. It's not terribly hot but it has the best flavor. It owns Tabasco.

I've heard good things about Roscoe's from my friend in SF. Everytime he goes to L.A. [i think] he hits it.

Ha...it didn't recognize it by its name but I've been buying that stuff for years. Goes great with teriyaki.

I really can't stick to one. I used to go once a week to a cajun restaurant that brought out a basket of hot sauces with your meal. I've got myself in that habit as well. I always have a whole shelf in my fridge devoted to hot sauces (habaneros, jalapenos, chipoltes, creoles, and chilis) and they all come out when I'm eating meals that require hot sauce.

And what's so strange about eggs or beans and rice with hot sauce. I have a hard time imagining eating them without hot sauce.

I thought for certain this thread was going to be about this:

Hot Saucing" (a.k.a. "Hot Tongue") involves placing burning their child's tongue with Tabasco or a similar hot sauce as a punishment for unacceptable behavior. It is generally used when the child's misbehavior is related to the use of their mouth: talking back to adults, lying, biting someone, swearing, spitting, refusing to eat, etc. Variations on the punishment include the use of acetic acid (vinegar), lemon juice, soap or some other highly noxious substance.

According to the Washington Post, " 'Hot saucing,' or 'hot tongue,' has roots in Southern culture, according to some advocates of the controversial disciplinary method, but it has spread throughout the country. Nobody keeps track of how many parents do it, but most experts...including pediatricians, psychologists and child welfare professionals, [are]... familiar with it." 1

"Hot Saucing" has been promoted on some Internet sites, in Today's Christian Woman magazine and in a Focus on the Family book, described below. Focus on the Family is a Fundamentalist Christian agency located in Colorado Springs, CO.

i am an absolute hot sauce addict! i buy the stuff like mad. put it on everything too.

my favorites, that you MUST try:

Image
marie sharp's habanero sauce from belize.

second favorite, and what i have right now:

Image
pain is good batch #37 - garlic hot sauce.

i try a new one almost every other week, but nothing comes close to that marie sharp's.

i like the sirracha, but only on asian foods it seems. doesn't work with eggs, french fries, mashed potatoes, etc.

I buy it in the small village size at Costco. And E-stone's right, its best used mainly for asian foods, not for general hot sauce purposes.

there's a cuban place here that has Sriacha on the table and it works ok. those dave's ultimate insanity bottles may be TOO hot to really eat, better more as an addititve to a pot of chili or something.

It's great in homemade pizza sauce.

Seriously.

I like Crystal for flavor and Tabasco for more kick + vinegar.

Green Tabasco tastes like Leon Lett's ball sweat.

The Tabasco Chipotle is seriously good, though not hot.
