who else is digging this like me? a slight swerve from their first record, but sweet, none tha less.

me. i think i said this in another post somewhere, but i'm diggin on the different direction they took on it (although other reviews i've seen around seem to disagree) and it has that 50s/60s rockabilly vibe to it. less noisy. i dig whip it on/chain gang of love, but those two sounded similar so it's good this one is a bit different.

I'm not so sure about this one. I'm all for the change of direction, but the Ronnie Spector duet seems a liittle contrived and the cover of "My Boyfriend's Back" is awful.

I really liked Chain Gang of Love but all the reviews I've read about this one kind of turned me off on it.

i've said it earlier...i really didn't like it upon first listen. i missed the JAMC reverb, etc. but i really started enjoying it on the next few listens. it was a definite grower for me.

so much to listen to with so little time... maybe i'll eventually dl it

I'm leaning toward getting this.
But I'm not sure I want to risk being disappointed since I don't think any song by any band can do much better than "That Great Love Sound" off the last record.

I'm going to see them and Autolux in Nashville Saturday. Looking forward to it. I never bought Chain Gang of Love and will probably never buy Pretty in Black. I'm a Whip It On fan.
