1. Black flies. Damn these things straight to hell.
2. Rain on the weekends. It seems every year it manages to be nice and sunny during the week and then rain on the weekends. This crap is getting old.

Autumn is pretty sweet there, though.

Once we've got through the mayflies, blackflies, horseflies and mosquitoes and just have the mooseflies left, it's damned gorgeous, bubbie.

On my way to New Hampshire to start a campaign, I called a friend of mine and made some comment like "I should just turn around now."

I made the best of it (kind of) but i stand by my original statement that CT should be thrown out of the Union, and that if I were raised in Massachusetts I would be a hardcore Republican.

We got the summuh summit fierce - all of the June 12th up on to the July of the 22nd. Hot times just a-sailin' fancy free, sumtimes up to 70 goddamn degrees.

CT needs to go because of left exits on the highway, if for no other reason. If you're on the Mass pike and there is a slow person in the left lane, 10 bucks says they are from CT. No joke. And they seem to never ever want to get over.

Why would you be a Republican? Because we're better known as Taxachusetts?

anything that is cold i think is good weather. To me a 'bad day' according to most people, you know overcast and all that, is a fucking awesome day. That comes from me growing up in a city where the most ideal attire is being naked all year round.

Yeah, CT's highways were what prompted this rant.

Most of Massachusetts would be better served if it were razed and started over. The city of Boston is one GIANT goatfuck, and is best avoided, IMO, and most of it seems to have to do with corrupt Unions, and other boondoggles foisted upon the citizenry by their politicians...AND with higher taxes...Fuck dat.

I keep having a recurring dream that I move to Arizona. Like Maricopa/La Paz county area.

Would that be a good thing?

Actually, yes. But it's my duty as a Mainer to complain constantly because December will be here by October.

Driving in Boston is like a video game to me. Plus, when you're good at it, it impresses the shit out of whoever you are with.

I was out in Phoenix, AZ recently and all the roads are straight. Weirdest thing i've ever seen. How do they catch drunk drivers? If you've got good alignment, just don't touch the wheel and you'll eventually get there.

My mom is moving to Arizona in less then a year. Damn her.

Anyways, I've only been out to New England (New Hamspshire) once and that was a year and a half ago and I was sick and petrified all at once(was meeting the now in-laws for first time). I remember it being beautiful, it was christmas, but I didn't see too much of it. I remember driving through Manchester with josh's brother and him one night to a party and looking at all the old houses I found them very cool and slightly spooky at the same time.

We're supposed to be heading to NH(Manchester/Merrimack) for a few days in August to visit Josh's family so that'll be cool. I can finally see the area. Warn me if it's going to be hot as hell. I don't do hot as hell.

But I'll probably move back to Maine at some point, if I can find a good job. Maine or Orygun.

This southern boy does not like the cold. Give me my west nile mosquitos, and sweatty humid heat of Louisiana.

I have been wanting to leave for like 4 years.
it's winter like 7 months of the year. the weather totally sucks. People are stuck up a lot and generally not friendly.

I want NY back.

You're talking about New England south of New Hampshire and excluding Connecticut, I bet.

I've lived in Maine for almost 39 years It's pretty, crime is comparatively low, but the legendary warmth and friendliness of locals is a myth, drug addiction, alcoholism, abuse and untreated mental illness are rampant, winter lingers forever, petty gripes, prejudices and dysfunctions more often than not decide political, moral, legal and familial issues and the economy is horrible.

Not that other places are shining utopias or nuthin.

I want to live in the Blue Mountains of New Zealand and act like an amiable fruitcake all day long.

I would probably give up my blooming career in biology for a small organic farm / restaurant / brewery / winery / B&B close enough to the Maine coast that I could play in the tidepools every day. A pipe dream, but my best bet is the possibility of inheriting property in Boothbay Harbor someday. It's not that I have any illusions about Maine, or think that I won't be annoyed by the summer people . . . it's something deeper than that, something genetic, that is triggered in me by the Maine coastline and its corresponding tide chart that is written on the inside of my head.
