How does one lose a finger and not go about doing everything he/she can (including getting help from others) to find the thing immediately? I don't get it.

What an ass...I read a story the other day about this and the dude who had the finger was saying that he's keeping the finger becasue he was going to get an attorney and sue...But why put the guy who's finger got cut off through all that bullshit and first refuse to give it back, and then say you will give it back now that he's been in the news and on tv...
