I've been thinking about this and, given an appropriate recording budget, I would love to be in the studio with one of the following:

•Nick Lowe --- "The Basher" could help HoP bring out that nasty side of our music, while keeping the melodies.

•Eno --- Who COULDN'T use some Eno production?!?!!

•Britt Daniels --- Spoon's records just sound SO damn good! And I think that sound would compliment my songs, too.

Howzabout you?

I guess the stock ones for us would be:

Brian Eno
or
Kevin Sheilds

also whomever produces Broadcast's records.

personally I think Lee Perry would be pretty sweet.

but generally our preference is to be self-produced.

I'm thinking HoP could make some magic with Jon Brion too.

JT and COPS will be produced by either Andrew Loog Oldham, Ethan Johns (since Glyn is dead) or Phil Spector.

Well, I'm a stickler for the whole "producing is no different than being a good engineer" line that Albini takes, so I would love to have Alan Moulder or Dave Friedman record us. I doubt I would ever be comfortable letting someone take a production credit for merely recording my stuff.

Jim Steinman. He could put his majestic stamp on G.A.S.
Kiddie choirs, string sections, baby grand piano and maybe a guest vocalist ala Meatloaf.

In all reality I would love to have Martin Rushent pull a gun on me to finish the bass parts.

Well I probably love more records produced by Albini than anyone else so him. I wouldn't mind Martin Hannet as a second choice (provided I travelled back in time to when he was alive).

I'm not a musician, save for in high school, but I'd PAY to see Whiney in the studio being produced by Steve Albini.

Someone would walk out of there dead.

Or Mitchell Froom with Tchad Blake .

Or Daniel Lanois.

But preferably Jon Brion.
