I guess this could go in the hip hop section, but we never get any lively threads over there.

My boy Kent hit me off with The INfamous...Mobb Deep last week and I have probably bumped this every day since.

Shit is still hott like fire. What is it with rappers? So many of them have a fire debut and then just turn to shit. I personally think they save up all the pent up aggression from "comin up" and then when they get to sip champagne and rock fur coats that's all they talk about and it gets boring.

Oh, and Nas and Raekwon need to make an album, cos their verses on this album and on that song on Only Built are tight as shit.

What are you counting as Dre's debut? World Class Wrecking Crew?

yeah i was having a hard time thinking of another group to complete the comparrison. Jay-Z, maybe? Das EFX? man i had way too many das efx tapes. The UMC's as well started as that sort of native tongue thing and then tried to get hardcore to hilarious "Mr. Belvidere"-level consequences.

Yeah, I wasn't and am still not a huge fan of Jigga's debut. I actually think much of his stuff is kinda shoddy except for some boss singles, up until The Blueprint which I may put in the top 10-20 rap albums EVER.

Das' first was pretty hot, but the gimmick wore out kinda quick.

and i wish that raekwon would do another worthwhile album. actually i wish that i had dominion over time and space or at least a big enough gun to pair up producers and rappers and get the album that i want.

I have a hangover to nurse...about to go to lunch like a motehrfucker.

Hey chase, when's a good time to come to Richmond for a weekend? my sister is bugging me to visit and I am going to need to get up with you and get drunk to be able to handle that whole affair.

so far as i can tell every weekend is the same and has been since the big fire. i'll try to see when the reenactors are defending the stonewall jackson monument next, that'll be a good divisive moment for a daytime drunk. i thought that your sis was in the 'burg?

hehe, well that will be nine minutes not spent around screaming kid and nagging mom and sister. My brother in law is a grade A monger, though, so that helps.

I'll prolly be up in June or July, depending on when I can scam a ticket outta them or pops.

right on. i think that air tran is flying into richmond starting in june, and southwest flies out of newport news, maybe, so either might be relatively close and cheap. we can hit a richmond braves game and you can see who's gonna be breaking your heart in the divisional playoffs in 3 years.

haha, right on, dude. Yeah, apparently the Mobile Airport Authority is trying to entice folks to fly outta here more, and shit is getting cheaper. My dad has more miles than he can use, so I usually can get a ticket outta him.
